RTE's new 8 episode gangland drama with an all star cast.
AMC start date is September 9th I can't see a start date for RTE just a coming soon.
No mention of Amanda's trial for money laundering, or is that being quietly dropped since the case against Eric collapsed and he got released?
I've edited two earlier posts I was given wrong information regarding its airing in the USA. Sorry.
For what its worth the info came from here

It's passable tv, but not memorable.....I followed all the first series but never went back to it, will watch all this series but won't search for it to watch again
Watched it on catchup today. Its such clichéd driven rubbish, talking in hushed voices, staring into the distance. The wanna be mcgregor takes the biscuit though. As for 90 million give me a break
Tidy looking Beemer Viking was spinning around the place in.
Wasn’t expecting that twist… in order to pay off that €90m debt the lads are going to start selling electricity. Debt will be paid off in 4 weeks let alonE 4 months.
Good one to watch in the background while catching up on work stuff- doesn’t deserve or need your full attention
Yet here you are commenting about it 🙄
We by do people who dislike Kin continue to watch it? Is it a masochistic thing? If only there were other viewing options…..
Enjoyed episode 1.
I find some of the dialogue from Jimmy, Eric and Frank hard to make out at times. They sometimes speak in very low, hushed tones and if there's background music/noise it can be difficult to grasp what they've said. Does anyone else find that?
Looking forward to E2.
I find i need to pay more attention to it. Just by listening you would think nothing is going on, there’s a lot of camera work and small things like her having the scan in her hand that you would miss if not watching. Or maybe there is just nothing going on 🙂
The end of the last season bothers me a bit still. The fact he just wandered up and shot the guy in a car park of an airport was bad enough but for him not to know who exactly would be with Eamonn and end up shooting a Turkish drug lord is a bit crazy. Surely they would’ve planned things a bit better than that.
The acting in this is atrocious. It's on a par with fair city.
So they can complain about the dodgy Turkish accents of native Turks, right @Beechwoodspark ?
Subtitles are your friend.
Can't answer for everyone else...But for me, I watch it as I enjoy complaining about it as the acting, writing etc are all bogus. The time and day it's on as well is perfect. I literally have nothing else to do at the time of a Sunday.
Kind of "it's so bad that I find the fun in picking it apart" type logic.
Does it make me sad? Yes, probably.
Do I care? No
He knew exactly who he was shooting, He knew Eamon was meeting the Turks in Spain.
I took Amanda's explanation to be an excuse, she was talking to the dead guys sister after all, she's hardly going to say "Yep, I knew and I did it anyway"
Ah ok, that makes much more sense. I didn’t recall that from the first season.
Maybe he should’ve covered up his face a bit if he was taking out the Turkish guy too.
Although the first season was average at best, this first episode was actually pretty solid. The only issue I have is with eric's trial. Didn't they catch him going through traffic cameras? Was that just dropped or what?
So who's going to end up riding the Turkish wan ?? Ha
Obviously Viking, thick cnut bound to screw things up with his cracking mixed race GF
2.1: That was a pretty intense opening episode. I did think the music guy was going a bit off the deep end at the start though. All the drums! Ye'd swear it was Sicario! 😁
Season one did well enough any because...
I remembered the Uncle, uncle right?, Brendan in the prison. The whole episode, I was thinking that was who Viking was on about.
Not sure they can actually dodge this war they are trying to pay up for. Though the talk about expanding out of Dublin, I'm guessing maybe they'll have some kind of war with Irish rivals instead.
A lot is maybe down toIrish people thinking anything Irish made is bad. Yet it could be the very same story etc and be English etc and would think it was the greatest thing ever
Nikita and Amanda should set up onlyfans accounts, they'll have the 90m made in no time.
90 euro maybe...
The accent was dodgier than an out of date Turkish kebab in fairness
She has 2.7m followers on insta!
She’s Turkish. Are you an expert in Turkish dialects or something? What accent did you expect from a Turkish actor playing a Turkish character? Are you just moaning for the sake of moaning?
The main players are all very well established internationally, taking roles in major productions in the US and UK. Are you just moaning for the sake of moaning?
Unfair to compare to love/hate they are trying to portray a more Kinahan level than street level, which hurts it as it lacks that grit. The casting and dialogue is atrocious though but there is some good performances particularly Amanda and Michael. It's light viewing and entertaining but the woke diverse box ticking annoys me; female boss, gay boss, mixed race mistress. There is way too much brooding background music and staring into nothing.
If you want to watch a truly bad depiction of gangland Ireland, watch Darklands.
Let's put it this way I doubt they will get nominated for TV awards in the US if it's shown over there. Maybe thay will win IFTA awards but sure they would give it to anyone.
They cleaned up at the last IFTAs and may do so again. Much competition these days.
It’s a new series in North America (takes time to get established there before the award nominations arrive) and viewing figures good enough to get a second season. It’s also critically acclaimed- 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The critics and public aren’t with you. But keep watching, you’re contributing to huge local viewing figures.
The american role in this production will probably prevent it reaching the level of LH.
There is a lot of box ticking in it for sure. The girl who plays Nikita had practically given up acting and was working a normal job when the producers rang her out of the blue and asked her to audition.
Charismatic Yasmin landed the role after receiving an out-of-the-blue Facebook message from the casting agent whose books she was on as a teen
