Will you let us know how you get on
Will do 👍
On the RF100 form (available through the Tesla app under documentation, proof of registration - if it is assigned) there is an engine code. For the RWD this is 3D7
Details of the motors used can be found in the Model 3s user manual
The RWD has an output of 194kw or 260bhp. For those with the LR, is the motor code showing 3D6? The output for this is 220kw or 295 bhp.
Engine type listed as 3D3 3D7 for my LR on my reg form, assume thats 3D3 for front motor and 3D7 for Rear motor.
That’s just the rear motor yeah? LR also has the front motor to add to that.
Yeah dual-motor will have two, just wasn't sure what the rear one was in the LR. Plenty of power is the answer 😄
3D3 (front )137kw 184bhp 219Nm
3D7 (rear ) 194kw 260bhp 340Nm
total MYLR 331kw, 444bhp, 560Nm , absolute monster , more torque than a Porsche 911 turbo S ?
I thought the RWD was more to be honest.
RWD range.....
James and Kate the youtubers put up a tweet with photo that suggested that they still had 16 percent left at 189 miles since last charge.....
11 degrees ambient temperature showing on the dash.
Same here, one of the earlier reviews from Australia said the RWD had the 220kw motor, though that was a few months ago. If they've changed to the lower output motor it's maybe cheaper to produce. It is what it is and for a family car it will be adequate as Rolls Royce says.
I knew the new LFP had lower power, hence the slower acceleration etc
I just thought it was a bit more. Still more than capable for a family wagon!
Does the Y have the same hairpin motor as the 3, IIRC that's "slower" off the mark also compared to previous generation
Power for MY RWD is 220kw per the tesla.ie site .
Engine code 3D6 is a 220kw motor . Maybe someone here can check to see what come in RWD here. I would assume its the 3D6 and the 3D7 is only on the MYLR.
3D7 is listed in the engine code field for the RWD, item 6 on the RF100 form. Can anyone else with a RWD and registration form confirm?
Edit: this Australian website suggests the 194kw motor is standard on the RWD. Not the 220kw as advertised on the Tesla site.
3D7 for me.
Reading a bit on tesla motors Id say the 3D6 is reserved for the performance models.
Farewell my Q1 friends 🙁, hello my Q2 friends 🙂
There will be a blue RWD going back into the system today, might go directly to someone, might go to Inventory and worth keeping an eye out for.
Glad you finally made the decision to twist.
I did exactly the same on 20th January.
Funnily enough, it was also a blue MY RWD I cancelled that is / will be going to a good home!
I’m in same position now, got vin for rwd today (after changing wheels back from induction to standard). Have a LR on order too.
Think I will go ahead with rwd. :)
Best of luck with it!
just got this from Tesla as a text
Same here, this is encouraging, indicates another ship will be sent!
When did you order? Believe from the spreadsheet, celtic_oz ordered Jan 14
October order holders for LR got it too.
Feb 11th
Got the same message
Took one for a spin today, have a 3 so can compare directly. Getting in an out is easier due to height difference.
Seats seemed to go back more too. Even with driver seat set up for me at 6ft, there was way more space in the back, especially under the seat for feet.
Boot is massive, frankly huge too.
Tons of storage space.
Drive wise, tad boring in comparison to a 3, not bad in anyways, just dull.
Lovely car all in all, wear well the new owners.
Forgot to say, asked about new vision system, "next few weeks, definitely by 2024"
The sales staff here have no idea about this. I'd assume they're probably just making up an answer to come over as friendly / knowledgeable.
