Sorry you’re right. That level of quality

Sorry your right. That level of quality control is right for a 47.8k car

It’s a 47,811 car, I thought we had this conversation back in February when you got angry with me before in the model Y thread. Remember I outlined how other manufacturers are delivering cars with shoddy paint work, like bmw. I showed pictures of brand new €100k BMW’s being delivered with really bad paint defects?

Well BMW are back at it again. Brand new £150k iXM, paint chipping off the press cars. Some videos of it on YT already, most noticeably, CarWow

I’ve never never heard of a micro so can’t compare (Micra?).

But as I posted if you look beyond your rage, it’s a rush job. And I’m not trying. It’s not my car. Try, I shall not.

Don't think so. Waiting for tomorrow. Really looking forward to it, it's been a long wait since ordering mid-October.

Next Saturday for me. What’s the feedback on the standard range Y’s from those who collected? Bit early for types of range people are getting maybe

330km on motorway based on figures posted during the week.

Just my 2c on the Model Y's range. My 2022 M3 RWD would not get 330km at 120km/h. 300km max and that is running it from 100% to 0% which nobody really wants to do. A Model Y RWD will have less range than a M3 RWD as it's heavier and less aerodynamic.

Yes. I posted it months ago too based on Australian tests of 360km but they have a warmer climate.

I think That test was at their highway speed of 110kph.

For a MY RWD Id say it would do 300km in summer at 120kph but only 250 in winter at 120kph.

A lot of my business trips are 120km away from home , with some 200km so thats why i went with the MY LR, collecting tomorrow

It was indeed, hence my lower range calculations. I can’t find the post where someone posted their wh/100km on a motorway trip home from collection.

Just on the range, I've a 3 RWD (with aero 18s) so can't give you Y info but hopefully someone comes along with that.

I posted in the Model 3 thread - had my first long trip today in my 3 RWD that was collected a few days ago. From North Co. Dublin to midlands on 90% motorway at 120km/h, and then back again - returned with 42% state of charge. Distance of 227km travelled.

That puts it at about 391km real world range in pretty miserable weather at full motorway speeds. It was about 7 degrees and wet/rainy. Inside I had 21-22 degrees on climate along with auto heated seats and auto heated steering wheel (*chefs kiss*). Very comfortable.

I used autopilot for most of the trip which probably helped. Just the standard included one, not paid additional ones.

    EDIT: 146Wh/km consumption

I posted this on the MY thread, page 141.

3 lads take the 3 different MY variants somewhere outside Madrid and take them to the motorway at 120kmh (autopilot), turn back when around 50%.

Shot in late December but pretty ideal weather conditions, 15 degrees, no wind, no rain. The my rwd is the 2023 version.

    these are the results:

The rwd does 339km but still has 5% left, so they're estimating it could have done 357 if driven to 0%

Model 3 RWD is such an underestimated car. It’s a pity many are blinded by their hated for Tesla/Musk as it must be one of the most efficient cars available on the market today.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,985 Mod ✭✭✭✭slave1

It IS the most efficient apart from Lightyear and (due to size/weight) Twizy

I think he's a big eejit. There's not much else that matches it. I was considering IONIQ 6 also but it's too slow to market, and doesn't have the same WAF as the Model 3.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 42,603 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

God, the I6 does absolutely nothing for me. It’s about as good looking as the original Leaf!

I agree, but I was coming at it from the efficiency perspective. Original Ioniq isn't the greatest looking either, especially with the lighter external plastics we got here.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 42,603 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

    Agh got ya.

I didn’t mind the original Ionia. I very nearly bought one on a couple of occasions. Very efficient and quick charging car them!

I placed a new order for a M3 LR in addition to my current order for the same car. I just added white interior to new order although I'm still 50/50 as to which I prefer.

The EDD for new order is April - June whereas original order is July - September.

Maybe I'll just see which I'm offered first in order to make my decision! Funny that they still haven't sorted out the pushed out EDD on earlier orders though.

Does anyone knows which RN numbers have received their VIN details recently, so i can calculate my delivery lead times?

We finally got a Reg on Saturday but couldn't contact the insurance company till this morning

Our collection is tomorrow at 09.30

Zurich said they have to go to the underwriters and it may be tomorrow before we hear back

Think I'll just have to cancel my Zurich policy and go with a different insurance company

Afraid it's not the simple, need to consider spec also as tesla don't make to order.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31 Thaum1

I ordered a Y long-range (black color, white interior, std wheels), and the original EDD was Apr-May. It's now drifted to Jun-Aug. Tesla did not send an update on the EDD which I think is pretty shoddy. Like they know that you are waiting on it. The least they can do is keep you informed. Ah such is the TESLA way
