Now for a counteroffer behind the scenes, withdraw to Ukraine's international borders, hand over any war criminals and then the west will consider easing sanctions. Anyone under Putin not complicit in war crimes may see that as the only out, like a coup etc..
There's pretty much zero chance the west is going to drop or ease sanctions or even in a rush to do so.
He believes what the Wagner leader is saying re his communications have been cut by , I assume the higher ups in the Ru army, very under supplied with weapons , etc. and basing his projections accordingly
I suspect if they start to feel that their position is under threat, they’ll begin to scream «Peace!!» a lot more often now, especially if they feel that their current gains are the peak of what they can grab ahead of a UA counterattack. They may fear that they might soon lose a good deal of the ground they have gained and would like a peace deal to award their gains to them.
My guess is the next wave of bot accounts might be bringing messages of «Peace» with them. This should be a sign for the AFU to hit hard when the time comes.
It's like they can smell a counter offensive that could completely end them.

Putin and his advisors must know that any peace deal offered at this point would have to include a return of much of the territory Russian forces occupy in Ukraine in order for it to be in any way acceptable to Zelensky. I say 'much of' because of the possibility of a conversation about sovereignty over Crimea. In that case, a peace deal wouldn't be that great for allowing Russia to have what they hold.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with the commentary that, following the arrest warrant issued for Putin, it's getting harder to see how this conflict ends in some sort of internationally-brokered peace deal. Given that one of Russia's overarching aims in all of this is to upend the current world order, they will almost by definition have little to no respect for the international bodies which they believe to be part of that, and even less where and when those bodies condemn Russian actions. So, for Putin to sit at a table with Zelenskyy and Biden and the head of the U.N. and so on, or even have any official communication is looking more and more of a remote possibility.
With all the compensatory arm swinging I totally missed the small steps and frail strides.
