Another account had a saying they use in Switzerland
They purged the Soviets from their ranks, and yet their top general is one who trained in the Soviet system with the current top Russian general?
It's like the Monty Python sketch from decades ago about a dodgy Hungarian phrasebook. 🤣
Zelensky will also have more information than most, given that he is Supreme CinC of Ukrainian armed forces and will be regularly briefed by his own military. He is also likely to factor higher strategic and political considerations into his thinking, so we know no more about what has driven specific decisions than we do about anything else. Even the two sentences in your post above allude to the difficulty of knowing:
"...iIt's been reported that..."
"...there may be many..."
Can you really make a credible claim to be able to say with any confidence whatsoever what either side should or shouldn't do?
The Duke of Wellington said that "All the business of war, indeed all the business of life, is to endeavour to find out what you don’t know from what you do: that is what is called “guessing what’s on the other side of the hill”"
From where we sit, it's all on the other side of the hill.
Timmy previously claimed he had evidence of NASM Anti aircraft missles blowing up buildings all over ukraine, just the Western news wasn't reporting about it ,
Lot of point scoring going on here, arguing with trolls about the exact situation on the ground. The overarching fact is this:- Russia invaded Ukraine (officially) on Feb 24 2022, with the intention of subjugating Ukraine in its entirety. They may not have been trying to get forces to every part of the country, but they were certainly at least trying to get to Kyiv and remove the Ukrainian administration, and looking to do it in reasonably short order. In all strategic aims they held at the outset, they have failed, and have since tried to move the goalposts by revising both the territorial objectives and the timeframe. As of right now, Russia does not hold one single oblast more than they did when they launched their official invasion.
Ukraine, who few commentators gave any long term chance to as this phase of the conflict began, remain in control of the overwhelming share of their internationally-recognised territory. They want to hold it all, of course, but would they have taken this situation over what was being predicted by analysts? I would have to suppose they would have. Russia, despite all the infographics showing how much its forces dwarfed Ukraine's are being held to a virtual standstill, and don't even hold as much ground as they did. It's no wonder the trolls are jumping up and down about Bakhmut. It's the only thing they have possibly had to crow about in months.
Not too long ago, Margarita Simonyan mentioned it on her TV show ( which was quite a change from her usual "Russia is great Ukraine is Nazi ") diatribe). She was not expecting it to become a "Live" issue so soon, I'd say. Be interesting to hear what she and Solovyov have to say now. Would be great to have a microphone planted in the dressing room in the studio. Suddenly, its not a game anymore, and they are far removed from the action. Now Its staring them in the face, and all their bluster and lies will be exposed. Cover your back and your track's time...
Makes you wonder if they are like fox news behind the scenes , parroting one thing on screen for audiences while behind the scenes they are calling putin bat **** crazy
I agree if Ukraine can cut into Russia during Spring and Summer time with their offences then Russia are in trouble but if Russia stop these offences then I believe Ukraine are in a very bad position and the war will likely drag on for years. Might drag on for years anyhow but if Russia weather the storm come autumn then Ukraine might be in a tricky situation. I think we will see come the autumn time which way the lay of the land is in regards this conflict.
Pronudo, you might want to re-think that suggestion, I know exactly what you mean, but if you cant post the first one, how are you going to make the quota that allows you to post?
Body armour, drone parts and "hunting rifles" going from China on a global tour before ending up in Russia.
How much is really going and will the Chinese Communist Party step up Solidarity with the Comrade in the Kremlin. There are few with a similar world view to them in leadership globally, will they allow an alternative, unlikely.
There are ways for Russia to receive significant arms from Communist States like China, North Korea, Cuba and others who have leanings in that direction.
I see Putins buddy in Syria was asking for more and larger Russian forces to be permanently deployed to syria Along with building bases across syria,
More Russians and Iranians building close to Israel is going to go down well in that part of the world
Corner boys of the world unite. You have nothing to lose but your chains.
There is a large number of countries in Africa and Asia who are chomping at the bit to tear down the world order and it's Western focus on democracy, rights, rule of law etc.
Friend of mine was in Damascus, he was on tour with the UN, lot of Russians there.
Only on certain threads that seem to attract more than their fair share of re regs and spammers.
The idea has already been suggested and rejected by moderators. It seems logical but I suppose the idea is to confine these spam accounts to particular threads rather than have them spam dozens of other threads to get their post count up to the required level.
The biggest seems to be the lack of staff for a better word around these parts, seems to be a one man show, and he can't be in here 24/7 dealing with this nonsense.
A culture war is brewing within Ukraine’s armed forces. It is being waged between top-down Soviet military thinking on the one hand, and bottom-up Western military culture on the other. This intellectual tussle is hindering Ukraine’s adaptation and learning. It is also hurting Ukraine’s performance in the war against Russia. This is one of my main lessons from a recent research trip to Kyiv and the frontlines of eastern Ukraine, which I conducted alongside some of the leading Western military experts on Russia.
It looks like the folks at The Economist have joined you in promoting the same "pro-Kremlin" point of view on this matter.
5:1 is the NATO intelligence estimate. BBC showed a reporter in Bakhmut interviewing Ukrainian troops doing the shooting and they were quite emphatic it's 7:1.
So your claim of copium is weak.
Yes pronudo, I understand your idea, and the reasons behind it. But it contradicts itself like, if you cannot post until you have say 10 posts, how do you get the first one to start the count? There is a kind of limit on some forum's where you cannot upload pics until you have minimum of 10 written posts. So you bang off the 10 posts, and bingo, you are in. Unfortunately there's no real way of stopping re-regs and scammers until they get kicked off the thread, and then,, re-reg and off we go again. Thats it unfortunately. I don't know if there's a way Boards can stop re-regs, by the details a poster supplies. If the same details keep showing up? Email etc?
I think the mods have been doing a good job with our resident re-reg.
He bursts in, causes some minor chaos, and then gets wiped from the records.
Can’t be fun mopping up the crap to keep the thread clear.
Best ignored and flagged. This gobshite just loves the attention.
A teacher I had in PS, I learned decades later was a communist. I am not even a socialist.
You mean a photographers opinion
... like the US.
Putin is the biggest coward in the world, scared of own shadow even, he sits in bunker, he will die in bunker. Very soon.
The other criminal though - Maria Lvova-Belova - a prime retard. Only 38 years old, if not executed by Ukrainians after the war, will have to spend rest of her miserable life in the sh1th0le ruSSia.
The court has also issued a warrant for Maria Lvova-Belova, Russia's Commissioner for Children's Rights, on the same charges. She responded to the news with irony, according to RIA Novosti agency.
"It's great that the international community has appreciated the work to help the children of our country." -she says now, cool as cucumber. Lets all guess what story she will compse for later. "oh, it wasnt me, I was forced" or something like these lines. Hope her forehead meets the bullet soon and all the children are returned back to Ukraine.
This view is not uncommon.
Really,as i didnt know, however nobody have played the political game for their own political interest like Erdogan and Orban have before.
yeah, but the oldest rashist is still here commenting
According to who exactly un-named sources on social media, the same sources predicted the fall of bakhmut 7 months ago,the same sources claimed Ukraine couldn't hold bakhmut and the Ukrainans losses were unsustainable in bakhmut,
Yet 7 months later they are all wrong
Guess we can all link to random tweets.
That doesn't say 7:1 or 5:1.
