@fly_agaric Also to comment on the special fund of EUR100b I thought alot of it (don't have figure without googling) is for buying a fleet of F35 lightning aircraft, so will be spent whenever Lockheed Martin is able to deliver them, would imagine their factories are somewhat busy right now!

There is speculation that ATACMS are being held back as a deterrent for Russia using Iranian ballistic missiles. I don't know if there's any truth to it. But at the very least the US should announce another batch of Bradley's etc...

For the cost of one ATACMS, the US could supply 45 JDAM-ER. Released from 14km altitude (the ceiling of a Mig-29 is 18km), they probably have a range of 214km. The stated range of the ATACMS is 300km.

Ukraine considers their fighters an important part of their missile defence systems. They have said that they partly want western fighters for their better radars and weapons to improve their missile interception capabilities.
