No question the entir authoritarian wing of the Republican Party is a clear and present danger not just to the US but to all of us in the world who believe in and want to continue living in free and open democratic societies.
I think thats what needed, and i believe the head of the german armed forces will be replaced as well
Eberhard Zorn will be replaced by carsten Breuer,so maybe a change was coming
Sadly what you say is absolutely true. I would take it a step further though and also say that a significant proportion of the Republican party is much pro authoritarianism.
Something going on in the Black Sea.
Possible Reaper drone shot down.
Edit: collision mid air.
That's dangerous

Accidental hit or game of chicken gone too far?
Wanna be careful, wars can start way.
Intentionally on accident to bring it down, ramed and then dumped fuel on it in an attempt to destroy it,
Russia will claim it was only an accident
The post just went on to say that the new recruits he was receiving were not properly trained and a lot of them were dropping their weapons when they were shot at and artillery fire was directed at them and running away. It just might not be as rosy in regards to Ukrainian military with new recruits but its nothing compared to the Russian training of new recruits.
Deliberate interference.
One does not simply down a foreign aircraft in international skies and get away with it. The fact the aircraft was unmanned is utterly irrelevant, it is still a $32 million plane operating entirely legally.
NATO should enable an appropriate response from Ukrainian territory to destroy at least one Russian support aircraft, perhaps a tanker or one of their converted recon-bombers.
Fighter jets aren't good at shooting down surface-to-surface missiles, but it is past time that NATO sent to Ukraine the very best anti-air defence systems they have available.
And also offensive missile systems for the Ukrainians to target key locations occupied by Russian forces; field command locations, fuel and maintenence depots, railheads, barracks, offices used by proxies and puppets etc.
I mean why should the Ukrainians be sending their own guys into the meat grinder in places like Bakhmut, when a strategic campaign could easily destroy all the support systems enabling the Russians to keep attacking and besieging Bakhmut.
^^^ Muscovites obviously out of missiles, resorting to ramming 🤣
They probably found out the location of the secret base from one of the NATO laptops, or NATO generals they captured in Mariupol.
Or maybe it was a lab where they breed combat mosquitos.
..in reality, the missile most likely missed, or hit a civilian building.
I would not be too sure that he will end his days like that.....in the peace and comfort of one of his luxury palaces that is. I doubt very much that he will live to see old age Russian -style either. ( but by Russian standards he is old, even now) When the food source dries up, rats will devour each other, and that's how I see it ending for Vladimir.
Which is something they already said no as they don't want direct active involvement in the conflict
Instead of shooting down missles they will likely start sending aircraft along to protect their unmanned aircraft,
The Russians have been at this for years this is the first time they "Accidentally" brought down any kind of aircraft, wonder why they didn't threaten the US B52 that flew close to kalingrad and other Russian territories a few days ago
possible strikes incoming. No launches detected yet...
Probably something to do with the 20mm six barrelled cannon on the B-52H....
Time to equip the reapers with some AIM-9X
They haven't had guns since the early 90's unfortunately,
Cost saving initiatives if I remember correctly
No.
They want fighter jets to clear the air space of Russian helicopters, fighter planes, tankers, transports and ISTAR planes, the latter of which are helping to target sites in Ukraine for other weapons systems.
Again, Fighters are not a suitable counter to very fast, very low or very small craft, such as ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones.
For those, you need a network of ground based interception systems, either counter-missile missiles, explosive artillery or close-in weapons systems that put up a screen of smaller ammunition. All of these need very high powered radar and AWACS or satellite linked tracking systems, far too big and cumbersome to be placed on aircraft.
Well in all fairness, and to give Putin his due ( maybe about the only good thing ever said about him) he has cut through miles of red tape and endless discussions about modernizing and upgrading the EU's military defense's. To be honest, I don't think he did it deliberately and I'm pretty sure that it isn't his desired outcome...but who cares? And if it gives Solovyov and Marguerita ulcers, it will be another bonus.
Yes, and they are forgetting the little matter of China and Taiwan is on the menu. Are they crazy? The war in Ukraine is weakening Russia beyond their wildest dreams, and DeSantis thinks that is not in the interests of the US? He would rather see a powerful Russia backing China?
Yep, the utter lack of lateral thinking among Republicans on this issue is remarkable. As regards Taiwan, it must be the most famous ‘unrecognised’ country in the world. From exporting cheap plastic tat up to the 1980s to now making & exporting the most advanced semiconductors is some story.
Also amazing is how Taiwan was allowed to have a virtual monopoly on the production of high end chips (some 90% of the most advanced chip global output is Taiwanese sourced), considering it’s located next to an authoritarian state (China), plus it’s prone to earthquakes which could potentially disrupt chip output.
De Santis, Trump, et al are so fixated on sticking it to the Dems in every way possible that they seem to regard the conquest of Ukraine by Russia and of Taiwan by China as quite acceptable if they can gain power in The US. The level of treachery in the Republican Party is frightening.
We've haven't seen one of these for a while,
The first official denial is in ,
None of our aircraft touched the drone , none of our su27s were damaged therefore it wasn't us
Very surprising they have such a monopoly on it given nearly all the equipment they use to make these chips is Dutch manufactured.
The republicans couldn't give two hoots about whats good for Ukraine or America. They just want to be the opposite of the democrats. If the democrats decided to endorse the confederate flag tomorrow the republicans would declare it a terrorist symbol. The US is a shítshow just waiting to unravel.
Hah, thread has been very quiet on that front because there is not much to complain about.
I mean even @Danzy can only come up with "the Germans are on a go-slow + not re-militarising quick enough"! Fairly thin gruel.
I would say alot of what is coming off conveyer belts of their arms industry is going to be heading straight to Ukraine now, so there are competing priorities.
Also to comment on the special fund of EUR100b I thought alot of it (don't have figure without googling) is for buying a fleet of F35 lightning aircraft, so will be spent whenever Lockheed Martin is able to deliver them, would imagine their factories are somewhat busy right now!
