I wonder how this will work out for him

I have asked you to provide evidence that all credit decisions are entirely automated by computers which to this point you’ve failed to do.
Please provide me with that evidence I have searched high & low and cannot find it.
I’m not moving goal posts either but you’re categorically wrong and the screenshot (and subsequent link) says nothing to that effect either. As I have explained to you already but you seem to have ignored, banks use these systems to determine a risk profile on clients, the underwriter, with their years of experience and knowledge on the subject then make a decision of approval or denial of the credit applied for.
maybe I’m not being clear enough for you, so I’ll make it as straightforward as possible:
Loans are not entirely automated, yes you can apply online for loans up to €30k from AIB and get approval within 3 hours in those cases absolutely automated decision making systems are used. However larger loans & mortgages are not automated and careful consideration from an experienced underwriter is where these decisions come from.
I will happily admit I am 100% dead fcuking wrong just as soon as you can show me a shred to backup the claim all loans are approved without human oversight or input especially mortgages. Enoch will absolutely face trouble in the future securing a mortgage or large loan to buy a house like he was planning to as a result of his behaviour at present.
Not only because he’ll never be employed meaningfully again but I can’t see a bank in the country willing to entertain an application from him. How you think banks are just running entirely on computers with no human input at any stage of a credit application is beyond me honestly. Have you ever been inside a bank legend? Do you think all those staff are there just to stop the robbers or something?
Like I can’t fathom how you’ve become so belligerent towards me while also claiming banks are running fully automated credit systems. It’s bizarre.
If you actually visit the link in the screenshot you will see it explained underwriters do far more than tap their keyboards and wait for the computer to tell them what to do.
Christ a hotel receptionist would be a more difficult job than underwriting if that was the case.
And those legal costs won't go away by spending time in Mountjoy. He will end up with a judgement against himself for that debt and THAT will affect his ability to obtain credit in the future.
All to please Mammy Burke. Maybe he does have an ulterior motive? Maybe he’s happy to go to Mountjoy to get away from her? I know I would be! 😂
Where does it show up then?
You think that is all a financial institution will check? That they will ignore that he has an unpaid court judgement against him?

Seriously, this again? We've been over this same issue probably half a dozen times by now. 🥱
I've posted a link that states that community service or imprisonment are options if a loan isn't discharged.
Where is the information recorded, and long how it is obtained for? How do banks access this and do they need the consent of the applicant?
I have checked with Jim2007, his take on it (and he knows far more than me) is that enoch would be on every banks watchlist and would never even get as far as underwriting.
No bank will deal with someone who doesn’t respect contracts, court orders etc is what they’ve said.
I would take their word over most it’s their field of expertise more or less.
so yeah, enoch is not getting a loan or mortgage in this country.
Community service or imprisonment are alternatives to court imposed fines. They are not alternatives to debts owed for legal costs. Registered judgements for debts are public information and are published in Stubbs gazette amongst other publications
Is checking that in banking regulations and do they need the applicant's permission?
I appreciate you providing an actual answer though!
It is public information.
Nm. Stupid link won't work
I've had a look and all I can see is companies enforcing bad debt.
Sometimes links don't work if hit the space bar to try to get them to embed, but can still be copied and pasted.
Anybody can enforce a bad debt.
"For over ten years, Credit Reference Agencies like BPSG had unfettered access to the district and circuit courts to collect details of default money judgments, satisfactions and cancellations. In October 2010 the Court Services – quite unilaterally and abruptly – halted access to the records offices of the courts, effectively denying CRAs a vital source of information to help support credit checking and responsible lending."
This seems to suggest the information isn't published by Stubbs Gazette?
You should let them know.
I've actually read that already, are any of those from paid court costs though? I've looked through it and can only see companies, credit unions etc enforcing debts.
Are there any instances of i dividuals being listed for unpaid court costs?
Incidentally, I've had a look at the teaching council register and Enoch Burke is still listed as a teacher at WHS. Does anybody know if he can be removed on foot of his antics?
The source of the debt doesn't matter. If costs are awarded by a judge they become a debt on the party they were awarded against. A debt. An ordinary debt that can be enforced the same as any other debt.
I think the teaching council will state this until after the appeal in April.
They may well strike him off if his appeals unsuccessful considering the behaviour
His appeal of his dismissal and the three person independant review of the same is scheduled for 21st April.
I expect he will turn up every school day he is not in court, until this is over at the very least.
Don’t be silly… when he reaches his NRD he’ll apply for an extension. 😀
Why did you make the first post if you had already read the Stubbs page where it publishes debtors with judgements against them? What are you playing? Did you ignore it and hope nobody else would post it?
Does that ever expire? Say Enoch is dispatched on community service in lieu of payment would that be a permanent black mark? Say I use my credit card and don't repay the debt, that will eventually not show on my credit report, would a court debt expire in the same manner?
No, I don't understand why that's there when reports are issued. The list seems to be credits unions etc., so I'm unsure if the likes of Burke's case can be published, i.e., debts arising out of a court case rather than a debt with a company or financial institution.
They can. Perhaps stop responding like people are lying to you.
I'm not suggesting you're lying to me at all, I'm trying to understand the discrepancy between them saying they can no longer report on court proceedings and the fact that they do.
I've explained twice that I didn't know if there was a difference between the reporting of debt enforcement from commercial entities versus the courts themselves. The link I posted seemed to suggest there was.
The fines are one thing. They take priority over the costs. Enoch more than likely won't pay them.
The school getting their costs paid is a whole other ball game. Burke more than likely won't have the money to pay them even if he wanted to. And the School will have to go back to court and spend more money to try get their costs. And if Burke doesn't have the money to pay the costs, they are throwing good money after bad.
Much harder for the school to garnish Burke's future wages than it is for the Courts to do so in order to collect a fine.
He's probably spending that money now. Or has it spent. Or gotten rid of somehow. Plus you are speculating, he may or may not have had €20k saved up.
You said about Burke being financially ruined for the rest of his life. I don't think he gives a sh1te.
sure god will sort it out be grand
