Strange. My M3 RWD delivery has been pushed to July-Oct, but the amount due still includes the SEAI grant. Maybe they are processing the bookings in batches and Amount Due will increase for all the vehicles with a postponed delivery date.
All the current deliveries were on the boat prior to price drops so given the high price of the LR they were always going to be like hen's teeth, they were never going to be delivered in any quantity...
Are we not expecting (hoping!) the LR with dates end April-early May are on Hoegh Bangkok, which is already at sea?
Of course
But have we learnt anything recently ? Oh ye the EDD's are at best optimistic and at worst pure lies (you can still order new now for delivery in April! ).
If you want to assume anything, assume the worst.
According to here: https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/money_and_tax/budgets/budget_2023.html#lf5f0c
"The €5,000 relief towards the private purchase of qualifying electric vehicles (EVs) will continue with a gradual reduction in the grant from July 2023."
Its a gradual reduction so the whole amount should not be disappearing?
Yeah there's no way they'd get rid of the grant, still way more people buying petrol and diesel cars, what incentive would they have to spend 15k more on an electric vehicle.
The problem with grants in this country is people tend to add it on to the RRP.
So even if its reduced to €2500 a dealer might absorb a lot of it.
A shortage of cars is helping keep prices high too.
Normal until the system picks up on it.
I don't think telsa will be looking at each country and their grant system, the standard tesla in the UK is around 49k, I don't think they get a grant.
I think Tesla did look at the Irish grant limits when looking at their prices drops recently, getting the Y LR under the limit seems very deliberate...
...or maybe a total fluke
I wasnt referring to Tesla but the Irish car market in general.
I've no doubt dealers and distributers are adding to the price due to a general shortage of cars and the grant.
Couple of folks on Facebook contacted today and told car would be delivered direct to them, including one chap in Cork. Would be handy!
Weird - mine is still there - this is really taking the piss
For anyone who meets the qualifying criteria for SEAI grant will be honoured. Official government position is that SEAI grant of 5K available for cars under 60K until 30th June (I suspect cars purchased, paid for, and delivered ) with a reduction in grant flagged as Governments intent after that (specifics are not publicised or known).. Exactly what happens after 30th June is unknown and any views expressed are speculative. It may well be that Tesla have taken a view that where dates move beyond 30th June, that it is more prudent not to "advertise the grant at the 5K level" as specifics beyond 30th June are unknown..Personally I think that would be understandable.
Have a Y & 3 coming in next few days, Y in Baldonnel & got a text this morning to say 3 would be delivered to the house. I wonder if home deliveries are cars recently picked up from inventory, as my 3 was last week
My grant is still there too - my order was pushed out to July - Oct. Base Model 3 in white, no extras
If anyone has got a Model Y RWD registration number yet, would they mind PM'ing me it? Trying to get insurance sorted!
July you mean.
Also grant still showing for M3 standard 17 July - September 30
Slightly off topic
who did you get your Tesla insured with?
Rang my company to arrange the transfer of policy but they want written documentation that there is no autopilot
The grant would have a significant impact on their forecasting so I'd be inclined to think they're absolutely looking at each country individually.
Gradual reduction in grant is what is flagged "from July" ......existing 5K level is safe until 30th June
Do they mean autopilot or full self drive?
because if they mean autopilot they wouldn’t insure Tesla’s period, since every Tesla comes with it
Who is your insurance company?
No Tesla comes with AP in Ireland, it's illegal
Every Tesla comes with AP as standard. Enhanced AP and full self driving are optional extras.
Same here. If anyone with MY Reg number confirmed doesn't mind pm'ing me as well as looking to get insurance sorted also.
+1 on a reg for a RWD Model Y would be super helpful.
Zurich
Im sure they mean FSD - I know basic autopilot is standard in all Teslas
they want proof it doesn’t have it
has anyone collecting (or getting a delivery) on Thursday or Friday this week received your Registration Number yet? I was told 5-7 days before collection, but no sign as of yet.
