I would not hold my breath for China's peace initiative, because really China would love Russia to win fast in Ukraine and to weaken NATO and the EU. On the other hand, this long war does not help China's economy. So what China is likely to propose is for Ukraine to give up all territories under Russian occupation and stop trying to join NATO and the EU, all in exchange for a temporary peace.
