Are the new cars delivered with Tesla HW4?
Have it now, thanks so much.
"I think ultimately Tesla will disable the use of USS on older models as well, or so at least they have said."
Tesla have never said anything about disabling USS on older models.
TV is not currently capable in replacing USS and nothing to say it ever will due to blinding and blocking of cameras on current models, especially in a damp country like Ireland
The sensors are for parking really, or squeezing through tight spaces in housing estates etc... Don't have any impact on normal driving
Thanks for the suggestion, I have seen their statement but it doesn't state that they will disable it in near future. I just think as we live in rainy weather and it's not great visibility all the time. It would be better off to have the sensors in-place of tesla vision.
I think it depends on what you want out of a car.
I've never had a car with cruise control, or any sort of rear parking assist. So having a car that even has cameras is a big plus for me. I'll just have to park like I always have, with my eyes 😛
I think ultimately Tesla will disable the use of USS on older models as well, or so at least they have said. But no one really knows if Tesla Vision will truly be able to replace it.
Hi All, I'm thinking to order M3 RWD but sceptical about the Tesla vision over Ultrasonic sensors. Any thoughts or opinions?
You clicked the quote button.
Tyres are an ecumenical matter. I was thinking going for the Michelin Primacy instead of Pilot Sport for my replacements. They have lower rolling resistance, noise and have better wet grip. A bit less precise handling. As long as you don't fit some linglongs or other ditch finders.
Noise and range are another 2 factors to consider as well as safety when replacing EV tyres.
Thanks for your help Andybobandy, sorry I don't know how to do the reply to your message thing where your message show up.
Thanks Andy. That's a pretty good saving there.
I am taking it that given the acceleration, skimping on tyres is not a good idea and therefore you simply won't get cheaper than that without a compromising safety.
from Tesla it's about €1,200
I bought 4 myself online last summer from TyreLeader (Michelin Pilot Sport 4 235/45/ZR18 98Y XL, MFS, T0 (Tesla)) for €913.56 and had them fitted locally for €60
How much for a set of 4 tyres for a Model 3? 18" standard wheels.
Order one from them, it's only a €250 deposit. Chances are you'll have it within a few months.... there are always inventory cars going up, not to mention cancelled orders.. (I have a white RWD assigned to me that I'm not taking... and when Tesla finally accept this that car will go to the next in the queue).
Check the Inventory page a few times a day as cars will regularly show up there (cancelled orders etc, they would rather put them in inventory 1st in the hope of attracting an impulse buyer), and will be snapped up within minutes.... if you snatch an inventory car you could be driving it within 2 weeks.
Hi Folks,
I'm new to the forum. I'd like to find out how long it takes get a delivery of a model 3 standard range if I ordered one today, I tried to ring Tesla Sandyford but got a call back from somewhere in England. Would I be better off buying a 221 model low mileage for around 45k that I can see on Done Deal? Thanks in advance for you help.
Kit arrived on Friday but not had the chance to fit it yet, I'll update when I do.
Data module for centre console arrived so, same scenario
Lighting differences too I think. Footwell/ambient.
Better/more speakers.
What's the difference in interior?
How's that done?
€40 gains back the front 4 speakers but the RWD does not come with rear speakers or sub, it’s the sub that makes the difference
AWD as well so superior grip in slippy conditions.
Far superior acceleration, which can be increased again with the acceleration boost. Premium interior with better sound.
Is there much difference between the RWD and long range in day to day driving? Apart from the added range of course.
Isn't the partial premium interior missing some speakers in the back, heated rear seats, some ambient lighting etc?
This was free in Sept, can't see what has changed
Could be using up existing parts prior to refresh M3 launch?
Looks like the partial premium black interior is a thing of the past for new M3 RWD orders.
Yeah I was assuming that driving would typically be at low speed. But in reality there are a lot of variables at play and my comment is probably pointless, particularly if the tyre is structurally sound anyway.
I'd agree a blow out at high speed on a rear wheel could potentially be more dangerous, especially as the M3 is rear wheel drive. But if it was on the front, the last thing you should do is touch the brakes as you could lose complete control as you would have unequal braking forces.
Either way, any tyre blowing at high speed is potentially dangerous regardless and you need to simply try stop acceleration and let the car roll in order to try and maintain direction.
TBH with modern tubeless tyres, blowouts are very rare. I've only experienced punctures resulting in deflation as opposed to blowout. The only 2 times I've blown/shredded tyres is offroading on harsh tracks (overseas) and even then it was a medium speed (>80kmh)
