Thanks for setting it up. Added mine too.
Tesla's approach seems to be directly borrowed from UPC/Virgin.
Please choose a slot morning/afternoon on day X. You tak a half day off, they don't show. But show up on a completely different day
For EV leaders their logistics seems to be quite poor
The June to August range is ridiculous, it’s a 10 week period.
So not only pushing by 6 months but giving 2 months plus delivery window.
If RWD goes over 50k won't be buying it. At that point might as well keep the current car. Will see
The whole delivery estimation is misleading on purpose
At least you can get your deposit back, move on and put it down to experience
There was some right bargains starting to appear in the 2nd hand EV market due to the impending mass influx of teslas , which isn’t materialising to the extent people thought it would .
I wonder will this stop the price falls ?
I expect it will. A lot of owners have sold their existing EV’s at relatively low prices on the basis that the Tesla MY’s are great value which they appear to be. If they don’t turn up when expected/needed, some potential customers will keep what they have or go and do a deal on a new EV from a traditional dealer where you agree a deal to change and that’s that. Inventory might still be an option if suitable grant qualifying LR cars turn up like yours. Such customers will have to sell their current EV’s quickly/cheaply but other than that used EV prices are likely to stabilise or strengthen. Other than Tesla, new EV’s keep getting more expensive which can only drive on used prices.
Ye.. the massive influx of cheap Model Y's upsetting all second hand car prices seems to be a fairy tale.
What ? one boat and see you in Q3 .. what a joke
Had same experience with Tesla a year and a half ago, always told very good chance you get a car in the next window. Was three delivery windows waiting and got something else in the meantime. What I learned was in the current market don't put all your eggs in one basket have a few options and play the waiting game.
Added my one also with dates.
Having another option is definitely a good idea with the uncertainty around delivery dates on all new cars. For the sake of possibly losing a few hundred on a deposit, it definitely sounds like a plan. You won’t even lose your Tesla deposit as it’s refundable.
Yep also not wise to sell your car until you have a nailed on delivery date (that goes for any EV and not just Tesla's).
Have a white (w/black interior) MY RWD for delivery on Saturday, 25 March. For anyone with an M3 (preferably 2022 lowish kms but would take 2021 with fewer than 30k kms) who had ordered a MY and didn't get a date, would be happy to do a swap deal (obviously not a straight swap!).
Not fussy with colour (white is fine as is any other colour). Please PM me to get the discussion started. Will obviously need to move fairly quickly on it.
Will be taking the MY and be very happy with it if I don't get a suitable M3.
PM if interested. Thanks.
Added my details to the sheet also - thanks !
Hello Newbie here. Im going to add my MY RWD to the mix.
Ordered MY RWD 28/01. MSM with White. Delivery moved from Feb/Mar to Apr/May and now June 16th/Aug 30th. The overview on the account page has moved on a step thought to "Prepare for Delivery". Anyone get this as well? Very frustrating this whole experience tbh.Im going to wait out in hope for a QTR 2 delivery.
😫
Standard stage. Have that too since 14/01. You will be preparing for the delivery for the next 6 months 🙃
its a kick in the hole, but its still a 50 k + in terms of EV competition.
A friend said that another manufacturer told him that if you apply for the grant pre July 1st its valid for a few months then.... Any truth? Would that work for tesla? Haven't heard of it before.
It makes no difference as nobody knows what’s happening with the grant. It may change or it may not change based on the reversal of the BIK rules.
222 M3 RWD standard on DD for 46k. Tempted
It is for sure!! Hopefully we will start seeing Tesla ships in early May with Rhds for early June delivery. Here’s hoping🫣
I just completed the Google Sheets doc too.
Only 4 of us out of 47 appear to be waiting on a M3 LR...each of us pushed out to July-Sept date...I wonder if there will be many/any cancellations of that spec in this current batch of deliveries.
There is a good few cheaper than that - €42k up. What colour/spec are you looking for?
Black.
Ah that narrows your choice so! White much easier to keep clean & save you a few €k, but personal choice
Hi, new newbie here. For those on your first EV, have you bought the Tesla Wall Connector, or gone elsewhere? Is the installation of if covered by the SEAI grant? The reason I ask is that I was reading this
.. and this:
... which links to a UK table of wallboxes, but Tesla doesn't feature at all. Also, the SEAI application form does not include Tesla as a manufacturer, despite (I would assume) it being one of the single largest providers of wallboxes in the country.
So, my question is: does the SEAI home charger grant cover the Tesla Wall Charger installation or not?
Also, can you recommend any particular SEAI-approved installer in D15 or surrounding area? I'd be looking for someone who will route the cable trunking as descretely as possible to the front of the house. Some of the installations I've seen around my own neighbourhood look brutal.
I'm about to pull the trigger on ordering MY B/B RWD, just getting my financing in order first.
Both Tesla and SEAI have confirmed via email that although the Wall Connector is not on the SEAI Smart Charger list, it is eligible for the grant. If you never plan Solar PV and you don't have an electric shower, I believe it's adequate.
I ordered the Tesla wall charger and got the grant approved
I wonder could the M3 delays be related to the refresh they are talking about?
Just for reference, I used ecoplex to install a wallbox pulsar plus. App is decent and it will load balance if you have an electric shower installed. It can also be used with solar panels if needed.
They did a pretty good job and sent all documentation same day. They are based out of blanch I think.
€1300 for supply and fit, installed on Feb 2nd. Received the €600 grant into my account last Friday (just over 4 weeks).
Maybe, model y might be more profitable for them too
