You’d get Nova until about Portlaoise going south west. Such a brilliant station love it.
Ben Murray (ex-FM104) is in for him.
I don't mind her, seems like good craic, the music she plays is fairly awful though (but no worse than Ray Foley or Ian Dempsey)
Lazy radio on foleys show today was golden girls, Garfield, and He-man, and JPs Friday fun fact was that Sudan has more pyramids than Egypt.
Good man Ben, played the full 12in version of Darudes and Sandstorm this evening
ssssssssuper
After 6 months out, Paula McSweeney is finally back on air on Today FM......
Covering someone else's show. She'll be on weekend breakfast for Alison Curtis.
And as far north/northwest as nearly Carrickmacross
Are we at "Come back, Fergal D'arcy, all is forgiven" levels of "Remember when...", yet? 😁
She used to do her own music show on a Saturday and didn’t seem able for it. It was the same aul making up shoutouts mularky and she wasn’t a great music presenter in general.
That sort of contenty radio that Ian does really seems to be the right direction for her
This is the reason, thankfully he is ok
Jesus, he's incredibly lucky to be alive
Wow! I wasn't expecting that, glad to hear he's OK.
Oh no, can't listen to her. Sounds like a granny trying to be down with the kids.
Is she related to to former CEO Willie ?
Back on presenting this evening. Fair play, that must have been some scare. Lucky guy!
Yeah just listening to him now, fair play to him
Back at work 8 days after a brain hemorrhage, unbelievable! He said that last weekend was the first show he missed in 6 years, dedicated!
I’ve a question about the cash machine. I’m with 48 and I enter using the credit I have. I never get a confirmation text or any text messages at all from today fm. My partner gets the amount sent to him every day, confirmation of his entries and even free entries some times.
I’ve emailed today fm and no one is getting back to me. Has anyone had this issue?
The number for the Cash Machine is for all the Bauer Media stations (except for Red FM). It is not specific to Today FM. Maybe that is the issue.
See this thread:
https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058264652/goloud-cash-machine/p1
Their cash machine specific email address is sms@bauermedia.ie I believe
Is it even possible to have spare credit with 48 to use on such premium rate numbers? I thought they had a purely rolling membership model in which one pays 12.99 per month which covers all general calls/texts/data
I reckon they are playing Taylor Swift's anti hero song at least once every hour now.
I wonder what the problem is? 😁
Clearly they’re not playing Anti-Hero that much if the joke went over your head
Its getting worse and worse, so much so that I am out. Now that Dermot and Dave is just Dermot while Pamela Joyce and Ray Foley are OK its the monotonous playlists that are just plain annoying. Switched to 98FM. the music is more contemporary with anthems and a spread of good tunes. I find that Suzanne Kane is rubbish on the TV3 slots she gets, I think she realises radio is where her future is and she is much better for it. Also Barry Dunne the Cash Machine voice is OK too so I`ll stick with them for now. Maybe I`ll go back to "Today Classic Hits FM" at some stage in the future but not for now
Ed got to do a themed show last night for International Women's Day. No algorithm, it was a pure Ed-chosen playlist, just like old times. So refreshing! Tonight, I presume, it'll be back to "edgy" Blink182 and Coldplay... :-(
I assume that opera dog will be Ray's 'thing' for the next week or so.
I am almost glad they ruined Ed's show, it has forced me to look around for alternatives and I actually prefer Tom Dunne on newstalk these days, even to Ed's old show. Dan Hegarty is pretty good also. There's a good run of music shows now from 8 - 10 with John Creedon and Tom Dunne from 10 - 12.
Had to do a bit of work late last night so was listening to Ed's show, I didn't want to go to bed!
Thanks for posting this. I'll listen back to that show later.
I've more or less stopped listening to Ed since they made him change his show.
The good old days of Eds Songs of Praise from 7pm to 9pm on a Sunday evening will never come back again unfortunately.
