Anyone looking at Polestar 2. Expensive for a Volvo but seems to be one of the few EV available for immediate delivery
How long are the delivery times? I ordered a car from available cars last week.
About 3 weeks. Ordered mine from preconfigured 10 Feb and collected 01 Mar.
Can someone explain the Pilot Lite pack with the Polestar 2? Am I correct it doesn't have lane following like say, Tesla Autopilot, where you basically switch it on and the car will stay in lane by itself?
I know it has lane departure assistance, but lane following tends to be a step further
EDIT: Just to be clear I'm not talking about self driving, hands off type system. Just the basic lane following but you're still responsible for driving the car if it sh!ts the bed
Pilot Lite includes "Pilot Assist" which keeps the car in lane and a set distance to vehicles ahead. Works well enough on M1 but haven't really pushed it. Link to manual description below
Cool, looks like the Travel Assist on my ID.4 and is pretty much what I'm looking for. I find it really handy on motorway trips to take the thinking out of driving long distances
Is the price of the single motor long range still bafflingly set at €60,990 ( €990 above the 5K grant ) ?
Yes, it still is as of this morning. We’ve booked a test drive of the Polestar 2 for next week but the price difference between it and the Tesla M3 is a big black mark against the Polestar. Surely they’ll have to reduce prices sooner rather than later?

Always thought they were a good looking car on paper, but they've got real presence on the road.
Would love the performance version. They can keep the fancy suspension. Just give me the extra power and those lovely gold Brembo calipers! Oh, and the matching seatbelts!
Has anyone got a price on the 2024 model year, delivery is a few months out but just wondering is the pricing the same as the current one?
I asked them last month about that, and got this response:
"There will be a price increase on Polestar 2 MY24 for Ireland, this aligns with the spec, power and battery tech changes, we expect the increase to be up to 5% more per variant over the current stock that we have available for immediate delivery."
If I was interested in buying one of these then I would defo wait for the refresh if it’s only 5% more money. That will buy RWD and around 70 extra horses.
I had a drive a while ago and it was very underwhelming. The refresh has the potential to make a big difference.
Is the performance pack just a software change, and can it be done after purchase? Or is it required at time of purchase?
I saw something on the website about a performance increase via software update, but wasn't sure if that's the performance pack or not
I can't get my head around this, I thought there was a RWD already on the market but all the single motor ones are FWD?
I don't get the advantage of FWD in an EV, all the other brands seem to be going RWD for the even weight distribution
Performance pack adds significant suspension and brake upgrades as far as I’m aware so I doubt it’s available as an add-on afterwards.
@the_amazing_raisin I know, it’s the only car that I can think of that changed the driven wheels in a mid-cycle refresh.

I doubt I'd be going with the AWD anyway unless I win the lottery or sell a kidney or something

Those brembo brakes would cost a fair whack on their own. It would be interesting to know the price of replacing them if damaged.
It's probably good value as a kit but makes the car bad value when compared to a model 3 performance..
You'd nearly expect a salesperson to say that. Think they mentioned about a 6mt lead time.
I see the number of available now Polestar 2 on their site has gone up from 33 to 44 since last week. The price difference between it and the Tesla 3 must be having some impact.
Refresh also adds a fair bit of range along with the bump in power as far as I know? If the cost difference isn't mental I'd definitely be waiting for that. I wouldn't touch a FWD EV, you'd chew through tyres and never be able to get the power down.
The Performance Pack is only available on the Dual Motor version and has uprated Öhlins dampers, Brembo brakes, and gold (not real gold) seatbelts and valve caps on the 20" wheels. This is along with a bump in power from 408bhp to 476bhp.
If you buy the Dual Motor version, you can buy the software update separately which gives the extra power without all the other parts of the Performance Pack. That's only available in the last few weeks in Ireland (I think), so that must be what you saw...
Definitely sounds like Sales speak. They told me there won't be any in Ireland until Q1 2024, so that must be the 6 month lead time?

Tbh, 400+hp from the dual motor is probably enough for me, at least for now 😁
I have an ID4 and I've just purchased a Polestar 2 Standard range as our second car. I think the Id4 is nicer to drive but maybe that's just me. I think it's a cracking car that gets too much stick online. The Polestar is designed more to be driven with one pedal driving. I'm looking forward to having two very different EVs on the driveway.
Great APR rate of just 3.9% at the moment. Much better than VAG. I found the whole process with Polestar really refreshing.

Are people driving EVs with two feet..... sounds like sure fire way to end up into a wall in your driveway.
No I'm pretty sure the whole left foot braking thing doesn't work in an EV 😉
One pedal as in the car will brake to a stop when you lift off the accelerator
Sorry, I was a little unclear. The Polestar is more geared regenerative one pedal driving than the ID4.
I got the standard in Snow. Couldn't justify going for the plus but, very happy with choice. I tried Ioniq 5, ev6, id4 and a bunch of PHEVs. Almost ordered an Ioniq 5 but, impatience and P2 availability won out.
Which is surprising considering coasting is apparently more efficient, I'm not hearing manufacturers using something like the smart regen that VW use based on GPS location and traffic.
