Yep, they gave her a bit of a shove and she went down. Not sure why it's important though, happens every day I'm sure in interactions between the Gardaí and those resisting. What is curious here, is to see people queuing up to defend the Gardaí. It's plain to be seen.
Who knows where this is all going, somehow or other I suspect the substantive issue as Enoch Burke sees it, will end up in the courts. Maybe he'll need to change tack though to achieve that.
Ignoring the tweet, I hadn’t seen this video of them screaming at the media at the end. Mother seems to be in complete control. The father looks like he is just sick of this **** and would rather be in the pub or watching the telly.
A lot of families in those documentaries were though- I’m not sure which family are which TBH as so long ago that I watched them but there were a good few home schooled- pretty sure the Nazi family were

I have no doubt that the issue that the Burke clan want to pretend this is about will eventually end up in court. I doubt that the Burkes will be directly involved with that however. The courts have been very clear that this particular case is all about Enoch's behavior.

Well, he is unlikely to win the case if he sues. I'll admit I'm not up on the law involved: would the court refuse to even hear such a lawsuit? If so that's certainly a step up on the US system.
But remember their entire point is that they don't accept that he has been fired. As far as they are concerned he still works there. For that matter if I understand correctly technically they are correct. I don't believe his termination is official until the end of the term, though even if that is the case he is still suspended with a court order requiring that he not attend. Not that they are willing to acknowledge those either...
They're all stand behind her, parroting Martina while bobbing their slightly bowed in deference heads along with whatever she is screeching. I noted them doing the exact same thing at the Disciplinary Hearing that day in Mullingar. It actually gives me the creeps.
He is currently sacked however there is an appeal process and enoch appears to be going the proper route on the appeal process. One way or another he should not be appearing at the school until a point where he is actually requested to be there now.
One thing that actually concerns me...
The RTE news report mentioned that the Court of Appeal has been contacted by Solicitors acting on behalf of the family of the trans student, with concerns about the child being identified.
That family have remained silent (and dignified) throughout all this. Something must have triggered that communication from them, now. I genuinely hope that child is okay, and has all the support they need.

Often wondered why Daddy drives all the way from Mayo to WHS every day (I think). Does he hang around in Mullingar for hours waiting to bring Junior home or what? Do any of the kids have driving licenses, or are they allowed to? Maybe they would escape with four wheels on their wagon. Mammy could drive them but she doesn't appear to either. How did Junior get to WHS every day, did he stay with a local as a lodger and cycle in.

From what I remember, his father drives him to the school then hangs round a nearby petrol station for most of the day. Before the issues began last year, Enoch was either renting or lodging with someone near the school.
I think the reason stated for why Enoch doesn't have a car is that he was saving money for a house or something.
I saw it reported that he drops Enoch to the school gates and hangs around a nearby petrol station forecourt until he collects him again. The whole lot of them seem entirely committed to dying on this hill.

For the father, I seem to recall an earlier report saying that he drove to some spot a short distance away from the school to wait for Enoch to "finish".
I think that Enoch did have accommodation locally when he was employed but he no longer has that , so they drive back and forth every day.
The family has a history of this though - Back during the Financial crisis around 2012 the whole family drove to the Dail every day from Mayo to protest about Aids or something.
The whole crew drove there and back every day for weeks on end to stand with their Placards , so a daily drive to Westmeath is nothing to these guys.
They just reported on the news enoch was 10 minutes late for work.

From what I understand about that, the family was worried that some identifying information (enough to work out who or where they are) might be in the court judgement document.
Court said they have taken measures at every step of the process to protect the child's identity
The transition students were there to learn how the country is governed - even 40 years ago I spent almost a week down in the four courts! If you have never been to the four courts or the Dail, you should - it is any eye opening experience, especially if talk to some of the Garda that are there and if you compare your experience to the court reports in the paper.

Disturbing and growing trend on this thread to equate Enoch Burke's views with the practice of home education. There is as far as I can see, no particular connection between home education and religious convictions outside the norm. You can argue that such an approach facilitates such development but of course families who choose to home educate (as the constitution allows - parents are recognised as the primary educators) come from widely different backgrounds.
