Clipex fencing

Hi everyone, planning on replacing some fencing with Clipex fence posts going forward due to creosote posts coming off the market. Will be one or two strand electric fences and be for keeping in dry stock. Just wondering what the opinions are on it?

There's a sample one erected not far from me, i'm in two minds, mind you i've never seen one close up but just from looking at them from the road i'm not convinced they are heavy enough for a boundary fence onto a road for example, paddocks and internal fencing absolutely.

I've a good bit of fencing to do here this year and i've no idea what posts i going to use, i change my mind weekly.

Yes it’s hard to know about how secure they would be, especially on bends and turns with greater pressure. Seem to be a good solution to creosote long term.

Put up a run with 2 strands barbed wire and one electric along a boundary hedge about 4 years ago, wire hasn't lost any tension and cattle haven't tried going through it either. I'm happy with it so far and will probably use it again, very easy and quick to put up with just hand post driver.

I remember when I was a child there was some old rusted metal bars along hedges and gaps here. I think that they had holes in them and then the old barbed wire was held to them with other wire through the holes. Probably the same idea as the clipex but not galvanised. I'll keep an eye out if I ever come across them again. They were like inch angle iron I think.

They have a couple of options for strainers, there is a cheaper option which converts 2 of their Beefy posts into a strainer. Can't remember what I paid but it was considerably cheaper than the straining posts. It's just a bracket flat pate to stop the diagonal one sinking and wire/ gripple pulling back against the main post.

Similar around here, I guess it's the same idea, but they are galvanized and the clips really do make for quick attachment compared to fiddling with bits of tying wire.

For temporary electric fences I'm using lengths of light angle iron drilled with split pin insulators.

What is that product called...is it a beefy strainer?

I've been looking to get a couple of those for a while as I think they are much less than the large strainer with bracing ...could be wrong but I think they were charging near 300 for the larger corner ones with the stays on the base and stabiliser/bracing secured with long poles.....mad price really when you could have relatively successful stab at making one yourself with a chop saw, a pillar drill ,some decent piping etc

I paid €6.60 per post plus 50 cent for each electric fence insulator last year. The driver tube cost €16.5. All prices ex vat at 23%. I'm sure prices have increased since.

I've some clipex fencing done on a field beside a road. Got their strainers too, was able to do the whole lot by hand. Drove the strainers with a hand post driver. It certainly wasn't easy but doable. The clipex posts themselves are a dream to drive down, half the time taken to drive timber posts, maybe even less.

Got the posts that can take 4 lines of wire, ended up putting 3 on it. Very happy with the result, would do the whole farm with this stuff if I could afford it.

How much are they compared to timber? Do they suit one strand? Do they go brown after awhile?
