Very few photos of the interior. While in theory it might make a good wedding venue or accomodation the investment and time alone might make an empty site better suited. Location also is critical to driving demand. Anywhere near Dublin will always be in demand while other places are very seasonal with only 12 weeks if tourism. In terms of refugees even getting it to the point if fire safety, heating working and then you are relying on government long term deal where they have said long term they want to move away from this type set up. You are likely to end up.with a 1 year contract rolling which is hard to justify the upfront investment. Stories too if hotels offering whole finished hotel to government and then hearing nothing at all for months due to government disorganization. Even as a free building it may be bad value compared to an empty field.
Castle MacGarrett was previously a nursing home and has lots of crappy extensions added on.

That's interesting, thank you. I was entertained by the 'Decaying room' a room for decaying in, or a room that is decaying?😀
'DNG are delighted to present to the market this charming mid-terraced house build in c.1830 ...'
Seriously, they are delighted, I'm sure they are if they get good money for selling it.
But how they can describe it as 'charming' in its present condition defeats me. I have heard of 'estate agent speak' - I suppose that's what it is.
And 'build' I presume should read 'built' - do they proofread anything before flinging up ads, I wonder.
An estate agent would be ‘delighted to offer my granny for sale.’
They’d sell anything.
They're all still partying.
€135,000
The decoration won’t be to the taste of many but I love it. Just can’t figure out from the ad or maps what the deal is with what looks to be another house at the bottom of the garden/yard. Any ideas?
The text says there's a large shed in need of repair to the rear, is that what you mean?
Far too few windows and far too many stairs for my liking! Lights on in all rooms although the photos were taken during the day, and most of the rooms still look like windowless cells. No thanks!
It's a "large shed in need of repair" with an outdoor seating area.
To be fair the quality of the photos is shocking. Whatever setting they used, stretching the picture out so perspective is lost, easily seen in the guitar and washing machine.
Very arty house. Unless there's a back entrance with parking, the lack of parking wouldn't be for me . Also don't like the idea of stepping straight out onto the road, regardless of how quiet it is.
That said I think it's a lovely house for the price.
Portobello isn't up and coming, its been 'here' and expensive for about 20 years. And Leo's place is about 2k away, past Harold's cross, probably past being up and coming as well, as 2beds are now 5-600k
This is the back of the New Ross house:
And this is the "shed in need of repair". It's another house, it even has a fire escape sign! Surely, that can't have planning permission?
It has a hole in the roof you can see in the right hand corner.
And broken windows, but that doesn’t make it a shed.
Next door also looks like they have an impressive shed.
A nice spread in Dublin 8...
That was posted here a while back - presumably it never sold. I can't remember what it was priced at back then but I remember it being mad.
Still utterly mad for that area.
I thought it looked familiar, I remember the bed in the utility/utility in the bedroom.
I couldn't make head nor tail of those photos when I was looking at them earlier.
It's very higgledy-piggledy alright, the yard between both houses looks like an obstacle course.
….
I remember looking at that house here before as was mentioned but I do not remember looking at the smaller house at the side. The smaller house is actually really nice and you even get a bit of a garden. No where to park a car if you owned or needed one.
Is there not a driveway ...the opening of the video has a van parked in it and street view has a second driveway on the side.
The second house wax definitely part of the discussion when it was posted here before.
That's the main house. The 2a building has a little walkway while the main house has a driveway at the front and another around the side. I suppose if you were to move into 2a and were friendly with whoever was living in the main house and they only had one car you could ask if you could park in one of their driveways.
Both houses have a driveway in front. What's the panel box thing on the external wall of the main house - an advertising panel??
Derelict shoebox on sale for crazy money.
No they do not how are you both getting that mixed up. The 2a has a small walkway to their front door and the main house has two driveways one at their front door and another to the side.
On the steetview the van is parked in this driveway below. The 2a house has a blue door to go to their garden and in front of that door is a small walkway to the main door of 2a.
2a white door shows the narrow walkway.
I actually went back to the pictures and it seems they do have a driveway in the garden but behind big blue doors. Bit annoying pulling in and exiting by having to open and close the doors anytime you want to go some where.
The house is a corner house and one driveway is on one road and the other driveway is on the other road....both driveways might belong to number 2.
Actually looking at it and the red boundary line , the second driveway is next door.
