Best of luck everyone!
Is the exercise format exactly the same as last year?
That's what I figure myself but you know you start having doubts... Anyway don't you know well I'll change it all up again, and spend the same amount of time on it...
How do you present that back to them - on the day of the interview or before?
I would check with PAS on your query as they seem helpful.
Good luck!
Maybe check if there's anything in your original report that needs updating from last year (I'm sure you're already onto that, but just in case 😉)
Exact same
Best of luck with it. Currently waiting for mine and first time doing it, so no idea what to expect.
That's good news in a away. You can spend this time improving it, updating it and making it even better.
I understand that the topics may have been different from one batch to the next. So you were very lucky to get the same topics. Should I pass the shortlisting, I should be in the next batch, so it's good to know what's coming up.
Best of luck.
How are the interviews going? Any feedback from them? Hope they have gone well for anyone interviewed so far. I think they were starting on Tuesday.
Mine is next week, I could see from the zoom link they are going 28th Feb to 10th March, so I'm presuming about 6 a day so 54 in this batch? Good luck to all!
There are also multiple interview boards so that figure being taken to interview would be much higher.
Ah yes it said board 1 batch 1 so there probably are multiple boards.
Happy to share insights from my application last year with anyone with specific questions. I was successful in the last campaign and have been an AP for the last 7 months.
All the Best
Hi, what type of questions were asked about your strategic analysis excerise presentation?
Thank you
I was asked questions in relation to my understanding of the presentation. Examples of best practice and how these may be applied. I was also asked in relation to timeliness. As in how long to implement etc. International best practice was asked forr the topic I chose. Also time your presentation and practice.
How have you found your role? Were you working in cs before hand? Did you have any departmental knowledge beforehand?
Had my interview, and it was tough enough... no idea how I did. I presume its 3+ weeks before we hear?
Hello
My interview feedback was 1 week.
The role is great, very busy and it peaks at times and can get hectic. However it balances it self out in my opinion. I was an external candidate and had no Dept knowledge before I started. I am really enjoying the role and my colleagues. It was a bit of a baptism of fire being an external candidate. I had no prior knowledge of the internal processes and mechanics. Do and learn springs to mind.
Thanks, I will be an external candidate as well if fingers cross I get through, so its always nice to hear that whilst a baptism of fire, totally manageable.
Anyone have an interview later than tomorrow? I noticed my Board finishes interviewing tomorrow and wondered is it the same for all boards?
No I had mine this week, found it to be a very tough interview and a bit disappointed in myself, don't think I crossed the line.
Do you think results next week or the following if they're finished tomorrow?
Who knows?
That was the toughest interview I've ever done. The time just flew by.
I also had a very tough interview this week. I thought I was well prepared but they didn’t ask any of my prepared questions. Like you guys I’m disappointed in my performance- but maybe we all feel like that?
Ok, I'm "somewhat" heartened by these responses, I did say to myself afterwards that at least everyone was treated equally badly!
I've heard varying ranges in the past from two weeks right up to a month for results to issue. It depends on the volume of candidates how many were in B1 this time round
Any update from those in batch 1 if you were shortlisted and/or called for interview? Interested to get a feel for where they are reviewing OOM in batch 1 and pace they are working at 😎
Interview Board 1 interviews ran from 28th Feb to 10th March so over a week now since the last interview from that Board. I only remember reference to Board 1 so not sure how many boards there were and if they were interviewing on other / different dates.
Thanks for that.
So board 1 ran for 9 days/2 weeks, I assume at a minimum of 5 per day, so 45 interviews (50 for 2 full weeks). I wonder if there are multiple boards sitting in parallel 🤔
If the batch 1 consisted of shortlisting rate of 50% of first 400 from Interdepartmental and first 400 from open, would mean approx 400 moved to interview stage from Batch 1.
8 interview boards at 5 per day = approx 2 weeks
4 interview boards at 5 per day = approx 4 weeks
2 interview boards at 5 per day = approx 8 weeks
No idea how many boards, asked someone senior in civil service (not connected to this) who does interviews at this level and he suggested just 1 board at a time as it takes some effort to convene all the people for them. I was mid 100's on open and interviewed on day 5 of board 1. I'm not sure if anyone has been on board 2 yet.
And to echo the others above, it was a tough interview; I don't know how I fared.
I think there were 3 boards at least, I'm nearly sure my Zoom link was for Board 3? Interviewed for 9 days, 5 interviews a day (don't think they could have done more than 5??) so that would be 135 candidates approx based on 3 boards, what do you think? will we be put out of our misery this week...
Surely they have to wait until everyone in batch 1 is interviewed and marked before realsing results from that batch? Based on the cutoff marks from exams, I think batch 1 was slightly over 400 OOM on Interdepartmental....
At 3 interview boards it may take ~5 weeks and then time to agree results so I reckon after Easter at earliest imo...
