I listened to Louis CK recently. First full Rogan podcast I've gotten through in a while. I can't stand anything close to politics with Joe these days. I'll most definitely be skipping Jordan Peterson. Too infuriately to listen to him ramble unopposed. The guy has gone far too down the "culture war" rabbit hole.
These guys do a decent job of dissecting Joe: https://decoding-the-gurus.captivate.fm/episode/joe-rogan-just-an-average-joe
It's a bit long. There's waffle at the start so skip to 30 mins if you are arsed with it.
I find listening to louis ck a bit odd as he seems a bit lowkey weird. Like he still uses masturbation jokes in his set, despite that being the one topic he shouldnt touch, no pun intended.
Yeah I get your point. That feeling has eventually mostly faded for me. He goes into detail about how he forms his comedy and he always went too far with topics that put people off. It just became a bit too real for many people, including myself.
I found it painful tbh.
I've found Peterson interesting previously, but he has turned into a serious whine bag.
It was an odd interview. Peterson jokingly accused Rogan of partly supporting a campaign to strip Peterson of his psychologist license for publicly going against peterson claiming all doctors who perform sex change operations are criminal and rogan said nothing. He just hates disagreeing with guests in person. The Kyle kulinski interview was funny too as kyle pointed out all De Santus policies Joe Rogan disagrees with but im sure in the next interview with a right winger Rogan will be promoting De Santis as a great candidate.
Am I masochistic enough to listen to Russell Brand and Joe Rogan get everything wrong for 3 hours...
Couldn't listen to 3 minutes of Russell Brand
He still acts and speaks like he is on drugs, just too fast and out there to enjoy listening too. Another freethinker that swallows conspiracy theories galore.
Is the Russell brand interview total bollocks? From those that listened to it?
I couldnt get past the first 15 minutes. Im still not sure if Russell Brand is intelligent or stupid but articulate.
I got about an hour in. I'm actually so fed up with this conspiracy stuff that I'm not sure I want to get into it. Both Rogan and Brand have gone full tank at this stage. Was interesting hearing Brand realising how much money he can make off YouTube and Rumble, in case you had any doubt it's a grift. I was a big fan of both of them once upon a time. It's just sad.
His ego is out of control, yet he sells himself as someone who has reached total enlightenment.
Both men poisoned by internet garbage information.
Rogan's buddy and frequent guest Theo Von appears to have given Roseanne Barr a platform to deny the Holocaust on his own podcast:
From this clip he doesn't appear to even challenge her (even appears to be agreeing with her), even when she states that "6 million Jews should die right now because they cause all the problems"
Von can be quite funny but I'd say he's probably not too bright.
Roseanne is jewish, is she not?
And a comedian..
It's hardly good ol fashion sarcasm?..
It's possible but it's not a particularly funny one and she's got a history of saying pretty horrible stuff.
Unless your intention is to police humour then this isn't much more than pearl clutching
Its quite clearly cut to fit a narrative
You would need see the couple of minutes before to see the context. It does look like it is full of sarcasm and she has issues with show business
And not first time she would have been cut to misconstrue her
Fair enough. I've tracked down the full interview so will find that part and watch the buildup to see if the context makes those clipped quotes any better.
Aside: While searching for it I heard her say that Joe Biden "got 81 million votes by winning just 36 counties", which is only out by a factor of 15!
source
OK here's from a few minutes beforehand:
So she's doing a bit whereby she's stating things that must be said to please the social media censors so she states that "Joe Biden got 81m votes in just 36 counties" (which is still disinformation for what it's worth - see previous post). then a few minutes later it goes into that section where she talks about the Holocaust. Even in context it makes no sense because then she should have said with a straight face "The Holocast did happen" since saying anything else gets you kicked off social media.
If it was a joke it didn't even make sense. I'm sure she probably just said it for shock factor. And no calling that bad taste is not "pearl clutching" ffs. You can be edgy without doing Holocaust material.
You didn't call it bad taste
You described it as "not a particularly funny" joke.
The issue is that, as I'm sure you're aware, some people do find that joke and humour funny. It's not for you to tell other people whether a joke is funny or not.
Well it's neither funny nor in good taste. Yes, that's my opinion. This is a message board where people give their opinions on things.
Clearly our opinions on this are very far apart so there's not much more to say on the matter.
What's everyone's opinion on Joe Rogan doing ads on his podcasts? It sounds so out of place, I can't be faster pressing "skip 15s" button 😂
He’s done them since I started listening about 9 years ago, and every other podcast does them as well.
I don’t listen to Bill Burr much anymore but used to love his ad reads
So Joe had the actor Terrance Howard on recently, I didn't listen to it but I watched a youtube video discussing it. Sweet fancy Moses. Has Joe finally hit peak stupid?
I don't know which was worse, terrace howard or kat williams. 3 hours of absolute shite talk
Two of the guests from the Joe Rogan show: Dave Rubin and Tim Pool, have been outed as getting funding from Russia to spread disinformation.

Well colour me shocked.
Have any of you guys watched 'Burn the Boats'? It's an absolute car crash.
Click bait title aside, this lampooning of it is brilliant.
Joe Rogan has long been a propaganda tool/portal. He is a useful idiot.
Oh boy, spreading misinformation while complaining about misinformation, God I love the internet. They have not been outed as being paid to spread Russian disinformation. The parent company (Tenet) received funding from a Russian source and purposely withheld that info from all the content creators. The parent company also had no editorial control of the people you mentioned.
