Was en route to Turkey - earthquake-related.
Would be maintenance related, or is there enough demand to send a 333 to Brodeaux of a Thursday morning?
Wait a minute - just realised the weekend thats in it. Obvisouly carrrying french supporters into town for the match on Saturday. 🤦♂️
Maintenance, most likely. That's the flight number normally used..
AN 12,UR-CNT, currently east of Cork heading north west up to Reykjavik
Wonder if that registration is directed at Putin?
That made a lovely loud noise on a very quiet night.
The high-altitude unidentified object, described as an “octagonal structure” with strings attached to it, was shot down on Sunday afternoon near Canada’s Manitoulin Island on Lake Huron.
While boards was down for me anyway, AA120 JFK to Doha diverted to dublin due to medical, It flew over my house in Meath but of course too low cloud to get any videos or photos, Hopefully passenger is ok.
Curious as to why turn back to Dublin rather than one of the UK airports, or even straight ahead to AMS?
Going by the Facebook groups, it's supposedly due to them (AA) having a significant operation out of dublin, including ground staff and an operations facility for their European operations.
That and they don't serve Manchester any more since COVID started.
I've had 2 raspberry pis sitting there for years gathering dust! Time to start using them with little diy projects like this.
I also put a request in for the Flightradar24 official tracker but am not holding much hope to get one given I'm at the furthest point from any airport in the country (galway west).
For those of us stuck with the DIY projects, do they give the free business account to all contributors or only to the "official" ones?
Afaik they give the free subscription to anyone who provides them a feed. You never know also they might be interested in your location for better trans Atlantic coverage. I have an old pi 3 myself but when I tried to boot it up recently was dead. I might try the receiver with an old laptop Inthe meantime
Yea and on ATC they mentioned they where going to tallaght hospital, Thought beaumont hospital would be closer. Also whats the Facebook group?
The decision on which hospital was appropriate would be taken in the light of the nature of the patient's illness and a range of other factors. It's unlikely that a 15-minutes difference in travel time would be critical.

Interesting, many thanks for that :)
