sincere thanks to everyone for all this information, and to the admin/mods for breaking it out into a new location.
had awful thoughts that i'd need a new box or summat after this week's sudden loss of all BBC epgs, all sorted now thanks to all y'all.
This is some of the discussion, the job will be finished later. Sorry but it’s 170+ posts so it takes a bit.
... and yet I was able to view them as I posted.
Also I posted a pic the contents of that stream. So contrary to whatever was written where, the stream was present as I have shown.
EDIT:
I can still play the stream - I just need to enable it and not depend on the PAT/SDT.
If you or anyone else scans 10847, you will see there is no "BBC One HD", there was two (SID 6941 and 6961), but as I said they were removed from that TP on 27th and 28th Feb https://forums.digitalspy.com/discussion/comment/102426581#Comment_102426581
To be honest I think it's keeping the thread alive, no decent New Channel since Sky Arts and thats 3 years ago.
At this stage we've complete derailed this thread more than enough so best leave debate there. Apologies to those uninterested in the minutia of the Beeb reshuffle.
You don't seem to appreciate what I am saying ..... that the data was and is still present on that same SID which was BBC ONE HD, as I have shown in the pics above.
I was able to play that stream until a new scan of the mux which now shows the channel missing in PAT/SDT which of course means I cannot view it. It was never about what the content of the stream was. It was on the BBC ONE HD SID days after I read here it was removed.
I expect the data stream will disappear soon also.
I wonder if people could hold off on the BBC discussion until a new thread emerges. It's confusing in this thread to say the least and way beyond "New Channels".
@Gerry Wicklow The CrossEPG functionality has been included in Vix since at least 2019. However, EPGRefresh is not configured for the correct TP for Sky, by default - it has to be configured in settings. I had it configured to zap to the Sky TP and Rte1 to ensure the EPG updated for all channels when I was away. It worked fine while I was using it, but was slow to download the channels, compared to CrossEPG.
The KingofSat link above has all that info. 10847, like all the beebs HD, is now DVB-S2 not DVB-S.
Again as I say, check the news at 13:30 and you'll see what region you are looking at.
All I can say is that the data is on that SID.
The reason I could still access it was because the muxes were not being regularly scanned I think, and thus those that were missing in PAT/SDT were still showing as available and thus usable. The info is still there according to what I see here, although now that I have scanned the muxes and BBC ONE HD is now missing in PAT/SDT I cannot play the channel.
This was taken this morning and is still there now
@NewClareman Yeah thats pretty much what I thought. EPGrefresh zaps the box to a preset TP to get the latest data on a regular basis. CrossEPG does the same thing. I'm not sure about ATV, haven't used it for a long time, but Vix defaults to the FreeSat data if CrossEPG is not configured and so does not include non-FreeSat channels. This was especially noticeable when CH4 was in dispute with FreeSat over fees.
@Johnboy1951 Knowing BBC1 was ending I deliberately left the box on it to see what happened. I got the SID not found error like you get on BBC 4 out of hours but the channel showing was BBC 1 SE. I don't fully understand the technicalities involved and just go by what I'm seeing.
EPGRefresh is just a channel zapper that automatically changes a designated tuner to a specific channel, at preconfigured intervals. When used on 28.2 this channel must be configured for the sky transponder that hosts the Sky EPG, otherwise it does nothing.
Later builds of OpenATV, from 6.3, if I remember correctly, have incorporated elements of CrossEPG and this is no longer required, once EPGRefresh is configured correctly. I don't know about other builds.
(One of these days I'll get to try all these new channels as I've finally got a dish again. Now, if only they power supply hadn't given up on my Tiviar...)
The 10847 scan above was at 8:30 this morning. I'm not sure where you're getting that data from but you seem to have multiple entries. Perhaps your DB is not clearing out old info.

This is what I see at present --- Service name, SID and frequency.
This has now changed ....... 6961 is now no longer showing a channel like it was an hour ago.
All very strange ... how I continued to have a channel up to this time.
Can you check SID 6961 on 10847V?
That shows up here as BBC ONE HD whereas 6931 shows as BBC ONE SE HD.
If I'm following you correctly @Johnboy1951 what was the generic BBC 1 HD now carries SE region so you can check the weather in Kent. Check the EPG at 13:30 or 18:30 to see what regions news is on. The generic BBC1 is SD only.
10847 as of Friday morning. The unnamed are radio stations. ETV4 is a test channel showing BBC2
As I write this 2:45 am Fri 3rd Mar, there is signal on both of those ....... both have 'joined BBC NEWS' according to the info displayed.
There is also EPG showing for later today, so will be interested to see if they do transmit.
BBC Two NI HD is on 12168 V 27500 2/3 8PSK DVB-S2 SID 1199
Thanks for that. I thought the BBC was finished with it's changes.
Thanks again.
That's where its permanent location will be but still testing for now. It's temporarily on 12168 V, 27500 2/3, DVB-S2 8PSK
Lads, I am looking for BBC2 NI HD, (for rugby), and I tuned in
Astra 2E10773.00H45U.K.DVB-S28PSK23000 3/450.1 Mb/s 22045
but it shows the chanell but under the Label 6312 and no info, so no epg. have I the correct tuning ?
Dave
Never ever use internal flash its only default as box comes with no usb or hdd. Having epg in internal flash will... break box. usb is correct unless you have an SSD.
Default setting for epg.data is Internal Flash (etc/enigma2) on OpenATV 7.2 Crossepg, always thought it should be on usb stick along with channel info.
Probably becomes the permanent home of the BBC radio stations
Can confirm all the SDs and radio are now duplicated on 10803.
Presumably they will eventually clear the temporary TP on 12422
BBC SD transponder update
When you configure crossEPG make sure 'openTV Astra 28.2' is selected (see #1451 above) otherwise you might only get the FreeSat channel EPG which misses a lot of the lesser channels.
I thought so too, but it was only when I configured both that all channels seemed to be registerginf or the 7-day EPG.
