GOMO are now giving customers on the €15 plan 5G as well as data and calls. Anyone on the cheaper plans will have to upgrade to get 5G. Hopefully those plans will get it eventually.
€15 seems like a good deal nonetheless.
Yes, same as in EU.
Funny enough the United Kingdom is classed as EEA by GoMo and than even stranger they mix EEA and EU consistently but in theory as per price information you get EU roaming allowance in the EEA which includes the UK:
here (gomo.ie) is the pricing PDF.
Actually just to ask, assume GoMo €9.99 works totally fine in the UK?
I just noticed that I am paying three 32 euro a month for a sim only plan...
What do I lose to switch to this 15 euro plan from Gomo ? Looks like on paper I have a similar unlimited calls, text, data and reasonable EU roaming... also looks like the Gomo/eir network is comparable to Three's... and I can keep my number.
Am I just donating 17 euro extra a month to three for nothing ? Because it looks suspiciously like that on paper here.
sticking with eir broadband has its downsides too, i float around every year for the better deals
i am paying eir 30 for their broadband and someone rang me offering me sim only and said he did not think he could get cheaper than my gomo and couldnt figure out how mu eir was so cheap, he promised to speak to the supervisor and email me a new offer but i am still waiting a month later
off to sky broadband shortly for 30 a month and two phones with gomo for 19.98
Yes I've seen that since the beginning, if you have 3G or H or H+ as your signal then you won't be using the Internet because there's no data there, absolutely infuriating at my parents house but everywhere else it's always been blinding fast 4G zero issues for a tenner so can't complain.
If i upgrade to the 5g, currently on the 15 a month deal and gettin 4g lte, and if it turns out the 5g is crap can i switch off my 5g and revert back to 4g lte on my phone and get back my usual speeds?
It's not landline, it's Broadband customers.
No Limits SIM Only plans starting from €9.99 a month for eir Broadband customers and just €14.99 a month for new eir Mobile customers
Getting full 5G signal in Laois on gomo. Speedtest showing 30mb down/12.5mb up, must be limited speeds. Direct line of sight from mast.
That will come in handy for family members travelling to Montreal in a few weeks. 👍
Similar to others I’ve notice GoMo has been unusable for me a number of times over the past few months. I signed up the day GoMo was announced and have been using it since.
Using an iPhone 13 with full 4G signal and sites just won’t load for me. Toggling mobile data on and off usually kicks it off again for a few mins but eventually stops loading again. It’s become a headache, so much that I considered looking at alternatives.
I’m with Vodafone and I find the service excellent, they’re upgrading every 3G mast to 4&5G this year anyways.
The 3G network is pure shite across both 3 and VF networks also, its not only Eir. Ive seen more and more people complaining to Vodafone about both 3G and 5G speeds.
I'm on the Gomo 4G €9.99 p/m plan and likewise in past number of months once 4G coverage drops service goes to crap in same location in Dublin because of this I would be reluctant to sign up for this €15 5G plan
Same on Vodafone here. If I drop to 3G I might as well have no data at all.
Ah I wasn't clear, I'd like the option of esim on domestic GoMo.
VF is the only carrier in Ireland that does that AFAIK
not just me then.. good was blaming the phone
Exactly the same here. 4g or 4g+ is solid with great speeds. Once it drops to H+ or below it becomes unusable.
I'm also on the €9.99 plan and won't be upgrading.
Do people still have landlines ? 🤷♂️
Importantly, you've left out that you're already an eir landline customer.
SIM-only for non-eir-landline customers is €15p/m.
I'll outlast them on 4G for 9.99
No doubt about that
Actually does anyone else experience this? 4G is the ONLY data network that is reliable on Gomo. As soon as phone drops back to 3G or H+ - data rates drop to near zero?

Downloaded the app but isn't compatible with my phone, Oppo A53. Shame, off to US next month so would have been handy
It's a 30-day sim. At the end of 12 months, you 'cancel' and you roll over again. I am on it years and it has never gone up in price.
download the app and you can use it straight away if you are going abroad, 30 days fr me in the uae with 5gb of data is €15 which is easier than getting a local sim and adding credit
No sign of esim for our normal accounts so far.
I'd like the choice of that, maybe soon?
Not interested in 5G, 4G is perfectly fine!
Im on the 15 a month deal, no sign of 5g for me. Im in waterford and the LTE pixel 6a im on is pretty quick but as i said no 5g yet for me.
on a gomo 9.99 plan
what would 5g give me.?
unfortunately I don't get that at home. or a 5g signal
I often get 4G+ when I'm out and about and have seen 100Gb/s on speedtest, that's on the 9.99 plan.
