My post has already been posted on Facebook, seem I've created quite a stir 😂
You should see the posts on the Mini SE Owners group. I wouldn't worry too much, people tend to post issues on owners groups so you see a lot more of them than you'll likely experience.
I personally know of another 3 with a failed cabin heater so could be a common enough issue. 201 reg car with over 80k on clock so out of warranty.
Most of the posters are calling you out as a troll.
Id go back and give them the details on the claims you were making as its awful to be labelled as a troll. (Both here on and FB)
So It seems you’re less of 😂 and more of a 🤪
Ah, pre heat pump M3, well you won't have that issue with a 2023 as PDC heating gone AFAIR
Hence why I way why I was saying a 7 year warranty would be better than 4 but apparently that's trolling!!
Literally one comment on there has suggested it's troll like behaviour and the rest are talking about any issues they've had and how they were resolved.
And it's the same lad on here and Facebook calling me a troll!
Tesla put the costs in the app but it’s actually free under warranty. That’s the way it’s been done since the start.
It can be quite confusing for newbies though but don’t be worried. You won’t actually be charged at all.
That also seems to be a uk thing as the prices are in £ rather than €. Don’t know if that makes a difference.
Era you can't have an opinion on a Tesla without someone calling you a troll.
A seven year warranty with 100k milage would be lovely.
Unlikely to ever happen but would be great. When you quote Hyundai and Kia though for this, a quick google will show both companies weaseling out of honoring claims in any way they can.
Even simplier, when I bought my Tuscon back in 16, I got 5 years free servicing. Great job. Used it twice, was doing 20k milage per year, was told then that I had 1 more service left in my 5 year plan.
There is a Tesla eight year warranty or 192,000 kms on the battery, motors and drive train so I'd say thats all the really expensive stuff covered by tesla, but I find you generally hear all the bad issues online but rarely see people posting positive experiences
Stay off the FB page with news like that, lol. Won't fit the anti tesla narrative there.
Normally the owners group is grand. The IEVOA Group, now that’s a whole other kettle of fish!
Its also worth pointing out that the above warranty claim is for the dual motor LR and Performance models only.
The standard RWD is 8 years or 160,000km.
You’ve literally just admitted you were trolling :
Mantis Toboggan5:22 pm
and then you’re complaining being branded a troll . 😂 indeed !
That car was out of warranty though. As it was NI it could be past the 4 years (maybe bought in Scotland more than 4yrs ago) or it's out of warranty through exceeding 80k kms
It's the kind of price that would send you to an Indie if you had a longer established brand of car with a mechanical problem. However I doubt if there are (m)any Indies in Ireland that would be able to handle a problem of this nature (software triggered) with a Tesla.
Calvin in EVBreakers would sort it.
Part may be hard to get though.
Hi All
I've to do trip from Kildare to Waterford (M9) tomorrow and was just wondering if there are any reliable fast chargers people would recommend for a splash and dash top up on the way home?
Cheers
You pass the supercharger in Ballacolla?
The best option now on the M9 is Applegreen in Paulstown where there are 3x CCS plugs
It’s a much better proposition than Kilcullen (which is probably too close to your starting point anyway) which has either 1 or 2 CCS plugs (depending on if a Leaf is using the cheaper 50kW unit)….
in Waterford itself you only really have Bolton St carpark which is a disaster as the spaces are laid out horribly and it’s the only DC charger in the city so is always busy…
Waterford can be got to via Ballacolla but it’s a ball ache of about 60km non motorway to get back to the M9, so not worth it now especially since Paulstown opened.
For those interested in a bit of a "unicorn" car having the best of both worlds - the current grey RWD in inventory was delivered to Dublin in Q3 last year, but never registered. This means it had parking sensors, it also has FSD.
Tesla have reduced the price of it so it qualifies for the grant. Order the same car today it would be €60,553 with no USS, its €52k at the moment in inventory
@AndyBoBandy thanks for that 👍🏻
Q3 deliveries last year did not have USS AFAIR (but open to correction).
I place zero value on FSD
Absolutely FSD is a personal thing & I wouldn't spec it. The car does have USS, as I've seen it - it's in the showroom in Sandyford
Yep - probably 70/30 split work/personal mileage. And two thirds of that would be M/N roads. I fast charge several times a week, but as I have NCA battery I only ever charge to 90% max. Occasionaly when I may need to above that, I'll try to do it on AC and just before Im about to leave.
Otherwise 90% is fine as the energy meter is always bang on and I place a lot of confidence in using that. I'll happy roll into a charger with 2-5% remaining. Range anxiety non existent.
Warranty is August 2026 which would suggest it was registered in august 2022.
Thats what I thought, but I queried it in the showroom & they looked it up on their system & confirmed its not registered.
My Q3 delivery has USS -- I think they all had.
