The Vicar Street gig last year was about €60 and he done a lot of his 'hits' and could be a similar show. That was a great show and would be pretty content if that would be my only fix of Ed Sheeran for my gig going life
The country and it's mother went to Ed Sheeran last year, I can't see the frenzy like last year. It was the first big gig after 2 years of lockdowns and doing nothing. Full families, young and old bought tickets to see him! Tickets ended up being given out on the night for free in some places as tickets were plentiful.
Of course it'll be sold out, and he'll probably throw in an extra date.
Can't see the reasoning for presale myself. It most definitely isn't a fan based sale,it's to create a push on quick sales. It seems to be a risk at this stage, take a presale crap seat or take a gamble for general sale.
Different presales for the same artists can sell different tickets too. A pal of mine was only being offered seated in Spotify’s presale for the National. I had no problem buying seats in 3’s presale for The National at the same time.

Yeah that's a good point about price difference and size of venue between Vicar Street and 3Arena. Don't really buy the idea that 3Arena is an intimate venue, yeah it's smaller than some outdoor venues he could easily sell out but it's still the biggest indoor venue in the country and outdoor venues wouldn't be available when he's touring now anyway.
Vicar street show didn’t have any production. Plus it and whelans were marketing/publicity exercises for the stadium shows.
The indoor arena tour will have production I assume.
99% of his shows are stadiums, so technically an indoor arena is intimate much like how u2 in 3 arena was and they charged over a €100 for a ticket right?
Could say this tour is a publicity exercise for his album too sure! :) Bottom line is he can charge these prices cos he will sell and could probably price it more if he wanted. He might as well make hay while the sun shines so wouldn't begrudge him.

€88.85 incl fees, for a standing ticket, for-the November 2018 U2 3Arena gigs, but that was 5 years ago, since they went onsale
My understanding is they are totally seperate allocations. The 3 presale is only 10% of total tickets, and i only ever use it for standing, as seats are usually very poor. So, for a sanding gig, thats only about 1,400 tickets, so 700 people, each buying a pair, on that presale and they are gone.
We won't be seeing any future U2 show under €100 per ticket
Personally will have to cut back soon as simply it's becoming too expensive

Absolutely gutted at that date as it's the same night as Loop. Also on the same date are Dead Kennedys and Psychic Graveyard. Not often you get 4 gigs clashing on one night! I've had three on a few occasions but never four. Ouch.
