Seeing as Elton has now rescheduled his Dublin gigs, might be useful to start a 2023 thread as others might start popping up.
The Commitments - 7th - 19th February (Olympia Theatre)
Elton John - 28th/29th March (3Arena)
Was hoping they'd play here and somewhere like Collins Barracks so happy out with that! :) Nick Mulvey on support too. Presale tickets available by signing up for mailing list here bit.ly/SingularSign-Up and go on sale on Wednesday at 10am. General sale on Friday at 10am.
Looks like there is a series of gigs in Collins Barracks the week they are in the UK. Could see them announced for there. Maybe a support slot.
Boy genius not playing support slots on their late summer run. Headlining a 20,000 show in London.
Say they'd be doing headline if they played. Phoebe Bridgers on her own sold out Fairview Park last summer. Would be great if they played though!
Fair play if they can headline a gig at Collins Barracks, just seems like a big venue.
It’s around 5k capacity for those late summer shows. Same ballpark as fairview, trinity and iveagh.
phoebe would do 3 arena and her fans would go and see a side project in good numbers
Wu Tang Clan and Nas playing 3Arena on Friday 9th June. https://twitter.com/mcd_productions/status/1630251500239978497?t=y088K2J-w-481aHN2otvTQ&s=19
I wonder how many Wu Tang members will show up? I liked them in the 90's but this gig will be wall to wall scrotes so probably won't be worth it.
Not bad
They were great in December supporting Alter Bridge
I am a huge fan of the Wu but like 90% of Hip Hop acts they are atrocious live. Could honestly be a bunch of us from here up on stage shouting and it would sound the same.
Nas is one of my all time heroes but would be afraid to see him butchering his own classics.
Hip hop is a studio sound and best enjoyed that way.
Indeed
I'm not a fan but went to see Wu Tang a few years ago as De La Soul and a cut down Public Enemy were also on the bill. It was okay. There was a DJ/MC between the sets who was quite good playing a lot of funk and the crowd were what you'd expect. The queue's for the cublicles was farcical with security completely turning a blind eye. I left half way through Wu Tang and went for drinks as it became the above ^^^^
Saw Wu Tang at Glastonbury one year. Good fun.
Saw Nas and Damien Marley aswell once in Tripod. Great gig.
After all that venue-nonsense, Katie Taylor's May fight has been postponed so the event is no longer going ahead.
For those about to Noise-Rock...
Unsane, Lost Lane, Friday 12th May
Psychic Graveyard, Upstairs @Whelans, Saturday 20th May (also supporting Osees in the Button Factory, Monday 22nd)
Its for the best.
No idea why Hearn was so intent to put the show on in Dublin that weekend.
Any chance it's on in Croke if ifs rescheduled for Autumn? Or will we be faced with the same financial barriers as the potential May bout
Saw Nas at Glastonbury and he was great. Full band setup and the classics sounded great. Not sure I'd go see him again after the Kelis allegations were aired.
British Lion (Steve Harris) playing Opium in Dublin 23rd June , the night before Maiden in 3 Arena. I'd say that will sell out with Maiden fans in town for the big gig the next night.
Yung Blood playing Collins Barracks on Wednesday 23rd August. Tickets on sale on Saturday at 10am. https://twitter.com/TicketmasterIre/status/1630517983821832194?t=Qs3jBvfk5WgGHcg470e4UA&s=19
I saw Nas do illmatic in full years ago, and it was raw and angry and amazing, no interest in Wu tang Clan though.
Hozier in Malahide is sold out.
1st Nov show added for The Waterboys at the Spiegeltent Festival in Wexford
Picked up a ticket, be a laugh. Hotels and B&Bs not plentiful but nice to visit our 'South East Neighbours'
Not Life festival 2015 by any chance, he played that and done that album.
Lovebox London, but same tour I think.
2nd gig is a good chance so, as its free on Saturday, i’d expect more around the country also.
I will demure as I am not prepared to take a chance on Nas disappointing me.
I inhale deep like the words of my breath, I never sleep because sleep is the cousin of death.
Words I cherish but words I will only ever here on record.
I am hoping Adam Lambert might do a Cork or Kerry show
A presale codes for boygenius uk tour? Many thanks.
I presume there's more to come there. First Aid Kit Monday, Yungblud Weds. Last year it was four consecutive nights
