The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Coming May 12th, 2023 – Nintendo Switch
The title for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been revealed! The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will launch on Nintendo Switch May 12th, 2023.
Link better get a full on Iron Man suit in this.
Can't say I'd be happy to see the Shrines back, certainly not in place of traditional dungeons anyway. BotW was really hurt by the lack of dungeons for me, and the game really lifted itself during the few Divine Beast sections.
I'd like to see both, shrines and dungeons. The Divine Beasts sections weren't great, they were lacking in content and at the end of each you pretty much fought the same enemy.
I'd like to see underwater sections, that could expand exploration massively within the same world from the first.
Also, Evertide Island was brilliant, but that was it, there weren't any others. I'd like to see more scenarios like that.
If the Divine Beasts were lacking in content....the shrines must have felt like time was standing still. As I say I didn't mind the shrines per se, but the fact that they essentially replaced dungeons was a massive disappointment for me.
Roll your eyes all you want. You’re trying to glean some sort of revelation where there is none. 🥱
Not my fault you misunderstood the survey question.
Some of the better parts of Majoras Mask were under water
Eventide island was a cool idea. BOTW within BOTW.
I do love me some theory videos
I have been pouring over the Tears of the Kingdom trailers today. Lots and lots of thoughts, but here's one. Maybe the islands in the sky are disjointed jigsaws, on many levels, that you have to solve or do something on, and when you do, they reveal a corresponding image below on the ground. And when you complete it, the image lights up and a dungeon becomes available underground and its entrance is revealed. That's literally what a dungeon is; "a strong underground prison cell, especially in a castle."
This is just my thought, but this might be an incomplete image.
When you complete the image, it lights up like this.
@1:25 for the first image
@1:06 for the second image. Zoomed in and rotated.
The islands look really scattered when on the same plane, but if you could see them from the very top, straight down, they might form an image.
And Tears of the Kingdom, might mean the images or the islands themselves fall to Hyrule like teardrops.
Or it's possible some of the smaller island pieces on the ground need to go up and level off, to make the land complete.
Again in trailer 1, why is the small piece of island going up in set elevator levels?
Maybe the more powerful you become, the larger the island pieces you can move up and down.
Getting a bit nervous about the whole Sky Island thing tbh, the beautiful clean vistas of Hyrule were a big part of the last game for me, this looks a bit messy but I suppose they wont let us down.
Be careful out there regarding Zelda info. Apparently the entire art book for Tears of the Kingdom has leaked and obviously contains a butt load of spoilers.
The leak is fantastic.... Not a hope anyone will be able to avoid anything for the next 3 months unless they go cold turkey on the Internet!
I've skimmed some of the leaked pics, and discussion online has exploded on various theories/confirmations/surprises...
Flashbacks of the Water Temple :D
I seen the headline on Nintendo Everything, didn't click it. But then I was thinking, crap, we're 3 months out, can they be avoided for all that time? And my bit of speculation yesterday, can I speculate anymore, because now there are people out there that possibly know what some of the grey areas are, and there are tonnes of them. Nintendo will have a dedicated Direct in a month or so, maybe some of this information will be in there. But the leakers have stolen their thunder.
Might as well rip of the bandage. Knowing some of the detail isn't going to spoil the game.
There is speculation now that Nintendo knew it'd be leaked early and that's why X Y Z isn't in the book... And this is part of a master Nintendo plot to whet the appetite more....
I don't use Twitter or Reddit so should be able to avoid spoilers. Unless websites decide to just use spoilers in their headlines. Like "Zelda playable in TotK (spoilers inside)"
Unfortunately there's a lot of $h💩tt¥ sites like that out there. I Google search all the time for latest Nintendo and Switch news. It's probably unavoidable unless I go cold turkey. I'm in trouble anyway...
I had a look at the leaked pics.
There's no real spoilers I wouldn't think excluding some of the outfits and locations but that doesn't really spoil anything.
There's good picture of a wheel of cheese though. Exciting.
I'd be confident everything there will be in the next direct/trailer and way more too. And it won't spoil any of the fun.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom site says “full version of game required to use DLC”
They've probably been working on it for some time, and I bet it's more expensive than the DLC for BOTW was. That was €20. I bet it's €30 this time around.
When is the original game not required to play DLC?
I believe...
I know there are a lot of gaming websites out there that’ll post any old shite in the name of SEO content, but jaysus a ’DLC will require base game’ disclaimer is not even news-adjacent.
The point is that TOTK is getting DLC, even though Nintendo haven't officially announced it yet. Gotta milk 'em all!
The * and ** seem to be accidentally missing in the main body whereas *** and **** are present.
Probably an oversight and should refer to the blurb about gold points and those mentions fit in order too. The blurb should look like:
Pre-order the digital version and download it directly to your Nintendo Switch system—no code required! Plus, earn My Nintendo Gold Points* you can use toward more games and DLC**.
DLC isn’t unsurprising for TOTK but this isn’t leaking it.

Would ya look at that I was right. The page has been updated now to include the missing * and ** which is referring to the generic concept of DLC and not DLC for TOTK.
Wow thats sh1t, one of the worst Ive ever seen. A luggage tag 😂
lol I remember getting one free with professor layton years ago, least with that game it kinda made since,
...
All those cheap nik naks end up in random boxes or in the bin
