That's more like a hotel than a house!
To be fair I think if you asked people to guess how much a mansion on 5th Avenue would cost, I’m sure most would be surprised if it was *only* $80 million
It's closer to Longford than Edgeworthstown on the N4, they've kept it tidy enough the past few years, the amounts of lights they used to put around the place at Christmas was outragous.
I hrrad a similar story, but it concerned the mans mother, who passed away in the house, but they had the corpse decamped to one of the caravans outside before any doctor or guard arrived, in order to avoid having to burn the house down.
..
That would explain a burnt out house a limitless further up that road towards Edgeworthstown on the right. A lot of the houses along that road have been bought by a few families. Lots of tarmac, concrete garden ornaments and little sign of life.
Nah, afraid that one nearer Edgeworthstown was burned out by a rival traveller family. This happens regularly enough but I've never heard of them actually burning a house where someone has died despite the popular myth going around.
I live close to the one in question and it's basically a show house and there's a collection of mobile homes out the back where they live from day to day.
His brother has a similarly big house in Athlone on the Hodson Bay road but lacks any kind of taste whatsoever.
All have one thing in common anyway, that the money was certainly not legitimately earned for building these mansions.

That's the one I was talking about.
I was inside that house once!
You can’t just leave us hanging . . . . . . Tell us more.
The landlord should put 2 tents on that cubes apartment balcony for another 800euro per month.
Advertise it has having a tonne of fresh air and close to nature.
Joking aside. I'd say Ireland's too cold to do that. I seen it done in Australia though but it's nice and warm there probably too warm out there in the height of summer.
1.1m for a bungalow in Kinsale. Description carefully written to avoid mention of the word 'bungalow'
The house is ok - not everything would be to my taste - It still needs some work. No way is it worth €1.1M - I wouldnt pay anywhere near that price for that house.
Oh I don't know - Kinsale is very much the D4 of Cork! 2500 sq ft of well appointed house in an absolutely gorgeous town, BER C2, lovely views, 20 mins from Cork Airport - that's far better value than most houses at that sort of price in Dublin.
It's styled and furnished very old-fashionedly (I'm sure there's a better way of phrasing that!) - with a more modern look and fit-out, that would be a fabulous home.
If I had a spare mill lying around the place, I'd definitely consider it!
How many air fryers does a family need?
....
this is the third thread I have opened today where the last post was just "....". is there something going on?
No you cannot delete posts anymore so you have to edit them and put in a few dots.
extremely high levels of insulation
BER…. C2.
The description is everything I hate when reading an ad: “enormous”, “exquisite”, “impressive”, “stunning”, “fastidiously”, “stylish”.
fair enough. just thought it was odd that i was seeing it for the third time today.
Not too bad considering a former council house in Kinsale went for 750k a few years ago iirc.
Still nuts to me though for a bungalow anywhere.
What's with all the bungalow hate?
That's still a huge house (just under 3000 sq feet), on a big site, in what looks like very good condition, in a great location. And it has rooms "upstairs", in case you're missing the exercise element!
Ive nothing against Bungalows - I grew up in one and they are great.
That bungalow in Kinsale though isnt great - its a mish mosh of styles, very old fashioned from the outside ( and some of the rooms inside), its a large house made up of small rooms, the garage has to be used as a utility etc. Its not great for 1.1m.
I don't know much about Galway, but this seems to be in really good condition for the price. I guess they are hoping bids will go much higher.
See the rusted boiler they were advertised back in celtic tiger era as rust free outdoor boilers. You cannot believe anything. I see countless of them and they are all rusted.
Is that the ruin of another cottage behind the shed as the boundary? I’d want to buy that too.
Be a bugger for someone to take advantage of the grants at the moment, do it up and you end up with a neighbour in the middle of nowhere.
definitely hanging around for this!
Is that not a pen? Could well be a old building now used as a pen but from my eye it looks like a pen. If you went there you could tell right away by the height of the walls.
The rooms in that Galway house are tiny, it's only 59 sqm!
It looks like a farm from street view but yeah, it would be pretty annoying if a house was built right beside it.
