@Gumbo yeah mate has on too. Really nice.
I test drive an ioniq 5. Really nice car too but I felt like I was driving a Hiace due to the console gap in the middle.
Both are nice in fairness
What did u replace? They look like the Uberturbines that come on it
I got the uberturbine covers. Delighted with the change, but more importantly, they protect the alloy rim from kerb rash.
There’s a way around that…
Apparently the first deliveries has soft paint issues. Anything from 2022 forward is grand. Don't know when that issue was solved, but some time in 2021.
Paint is the same as many other brands. It’s soft. BMW paint is soft too.
Washing any car incorrectly will result in swirls. Show me a brand new bmw from the factory and I’ll show your swirls, same for Audi, Hyundai etc
I have a 221, paint is okay, already got a few chips to bare metal which would be rare for me
Best part of having a white car is its the best colour for hiding light scratches & imperfections after a simple polish.
Hi all,
Question: How do you prevent the alarm from going off if you leave the car (with your phone), to pop into the shop for example and there are other occupants in the car? Is there a setting that you can turn on?
Thanks,
Mike
Nice mudflaps - where did you pick those up Gumbo?
Dog Mode (in the climate screen)
Ali Express. Can’t post link as they appear to be unavailable now. But they are all the same.
Leaving your door open slightly works too
Ah these are covers on the 18 inch wheels? They look good.
I'm not a fan of the stock aeros and ditched them on the 20 Model 3, they look horrendous and I could not figure out why people hid a very nice anthracite alloy behind a cheap/nasty cover that didnt actually protect the wheel alloy from rashing (if the range was not your only reason)
Or turn off the alarm and/or tilt and intrusion sensors in the Safety menu.
……or just turn on Dog Mode which is designed for the very scenario the OP is describing…
I just leave the keys with whoever is in the car
Try explain that one to the wife!
Camp Mode, some people don't like pet mode 😁
Press camp mode.
the kids can control the air and the main screen to watch you tube, Netflix, Disney etc
2 taps.
Press the temperature
press camp mode.
Does dog mode not close off the screen and shuts the entertainment down. It just displays that silk dog picture and my owner will be back message
Camp mode surely a better option?
Lad on a bike tried to squeeze in between me and some roadworks, basically failed and handlebar/brake level hit the side of car near frunk.
He wasn't going fast at all, and he didn't fall off bike or hurt himself. ("He was fine...I saw him getting up")
I pulled in a bit up the road and it put a small dent -> I was very surprised as there didn't seem to be much force, it was not even scratched.
These Tesla's are made out of tinfoil, good thing they can fart.
As you experienced yourself the fronts of cars is all about pedestrian safety these days. They need to be really soft to get top marks for the leg, torso and head impact tests.
Hey guys,
Looking at getting a M3 performance in the next week or so, any thoughts on what to look for?
This seems decent value for 2021 - and I assume built in China?
Wasn't sure about white before but looks ok there with the black contrasts.
I drove this grey one which was nice but seems to be a bit overpriced now
Also, Tesla have red one for €57K which would include extra warranty and enhanced auto pilot - is that worth it?
There's also a 2020 white one in the north which would work out at 44 if there was no VAT due.
Ideally i would wait a bit as there's probably a few trades happening with the Model Y but I need a car ASAP.
Cheers
Work out what you want to spend.
I have a 2020 white one with white interior and EAP that I bought from Tesla last year so the extra warranty at the end of the 4 years is really nice to have. And you can also extend it beyond that with the extended warranty program.
The 2021 one is a MIC so has the refreshed black trim (I wrapped mine) and has the heat pump and newer interior.
Performance wise there’s no difference and 0-60 will be 3.3 seconds all day every day. A bit hard on bumps with the 20” wheels but I’d tour used to this rule or car over the years (JDM fanboy when younger) then it’s not as bad. Not as comfy as a bmw on 19” wheels.
The performance is addictive. I’m on my third one now!
I have l a trade value on my Tesla account for €56,050 for a new MY but I suspect that will change closer to delivery so the grey one is a bit over priced IMO. But it’s a lovely colour.
there’s a grey 2022 one on DD for €57k too
Cheers Gumbo
Will try have a look at them over the next few days. I saw that grey one but think I will definitely go dealer
Any issues with the Tesla? I'm coming off a disaster of an experience with a Jaguar I-pace so looking for something more reliable.
Not too worried about comfort as I've been driving bmw m3/m4s the last few years which wouldn't be the best
What value would a dealer bring? Would sooner go private once there is at least a year left of original warranty. For example, the only extra value the one from Carroll & Roche above would bring is the one years AA coverage. You could buy that directly from the AA if you wanted it.
Couldn't understand the gaping intake for the cabin AC so for less than €3 off AliExpress
Before
After
I suppose the Tesla warranty would cover manufacturer defects only. So if the car had some other damage/issue you'd have a bit more comeback from a dealer
Are you not blocking airflow? There must be a reason they wanted high airflow without a mesh cover.
