Meant to say I got a surprisingly good trade in offer from Tesla - €38k for my 211 ID4 First. Not all shabby in the current market and almost at a 'go' for me.

Anyone who ordered at Black Model Y standard around 14th Jan have a VIN or firm delivery date? Mine been sitting at Feb-Mar since I ordered it.
Ordered MSM RWD Y late November. Changed colour to black 13th January. Collecting 14th March and have had that date for a few weeks. VIN only appeared much later though.
Would it be worth advertising and seeing if you can get an extra €1k or more privately? No harm, maybe a VW dealer will take it ?

The wireless charging slots are fine, I've never had a phone slip off them
I know it’s nice to have a few bits ordered before you get the car but my advice is wait a month or so after delivery and decide then what you really want/ need. Only practical bits I pre bought were the central cubby storage trays.
Ordered a black RWD a week after you. No change, still Feb-Mar.
So you found the key cards fine ?, I had thought about ordering two fobs

Yes. Key card fine. I just use my phone and the card in a key card holder on my key ring for emergency.
I have cards and a key fob. Never used them. Phone key is all that I use.
I assume my SEAI grant has been approved at this stage (signed on 13th of Feb) seeing as I received an email with final payment instructions today.
Delivery scheduled for 18th of March, so they give a decent payment notice, tbh. Setup as a payee today, so will be fully paid off on Monday once the BOI limit of €1,000 per day is lifted then.
Only have to wait the loooong 3 weeks now...
Aim to do so alright, just been super busy at work recently and will be until Tuesday so it'll go up Wednesday. VW offered me less!
Having said that, there's a lot to be said for driving up there in the old car and leaving in the new car!

More or less the same as you. Ordered black RWD on 20 January. Still saying Feb-Mar. Have spoken to two different people in Tesla over the last 10 days or so. One said I should have a VIN soon, the other said there probably won’t be a car for me until the next shipment. 🤷🏼♂️
You don’t have to sort tax.
You can do that with your vin once it’s on the motor tax website. I know people that have turned uk to collect their car with a tax disc already.

Phone key is through Bluetooth on your phone. Not sure if the tech specs but you just walk up and the car can be opened. Walk away and it locks.
If you need the app you can open it for additional commands.
How do you tax it with the VIN only?
Reg and PIN.
PIN is the last six characters of your vehicle's chassis number (VIN) as printed on your RF100 form when taxing a brand new or imported vehicle for the first time.
Not the vin only. Need the Reg. Point is that you need to “sort” it before collection.
In my payment advice email today they said that the car would be registered as soon as they have registered the payment on their end and that they will then send the reg for insurance purposes.
I wouldn't rush with the road tax. When I bought new cars in the past, I was told that they need to be taxed within 3 or 7 days (can't remember which it was).
Jumped on the band wagon today April-may delivery for standard rwd.
The SEAI grant isn't showing in the price details in my account, anyone similar?
