I feel a lot of people have switched to the Y, you know the older family types..😁 so perhaps a few more Model 3's will become available earlier. Keep a watch out on inventory cars
I'd be checking Tesla Ireland website for inventory of new cars, bound to start populating as likes of me cancel orders

Would they actually put those cancelled orders in the Inventory? makes more sense to pass them on to the Apr/May delivery slot orders, no?
Doesn't seem to be Tesla's modus operandi. Any cancellations seem to go straight to inventory..
I know a few people that have bough new leaf's & MG's recently but a good 2nd hand model 3 would be twice the car at a similar price.

So it looks like there are a load of right hand drive cars sitting in Shanghai port waiting to load on to a ship. Video from yesterday:
If any of them were for Ireland, that would be consistent with April/May delivery. Could mean there are no Irish cars on the ships that left in the last week given there are no reports of VINs issuing
It also seems that parts of Shanghai factory shut down as of today - this is allegedly for the changeover for revised Model 3?
Sorry to burst the bubble but on Tesla Motors Club they said those RHDs are most likely for Japan
The ship they were being loaded onto in the video, Grand Hero, is currently in Singapore according to the tracker. Wrong direction for Japan
From Teslas perspective better to go inventory route as you may pick up additional customers who hadn’t reserved and fancy picking one up quickly, they must have the data that probably shows majority of reservation holders will wait. But nothing to stop you jumping on an inventory car if it becomes available
Perhaps, but the M3 LR didn't qualify for the grant until too late for this boat, there aren't (m)any shipped. So while there's always hope, I think for LRs it's just a smidgen.

Ordered MY RWD grey in October. Swapped to white in November. Then swapped to LR in January.
Feb/Mar delivery on line in account.
That video was yesterday & Grand Hero departed a few days ago, so they aren't on Grand Hero!
A source in Tesla I have has told me that there will be no more deliveries in Q1 other than those on Hoegh Chiba. They do expect cars to be cancelled & as soon as a car is formally cancelled it will go into inventory automatically, not allocated to an existing unfulfilled order
If you look closely, the cars being loaded into the boat are all LHD.
did he say there would be Q2 deliveries so people can avail of the grant?

Didn’t ask that question I’m afraid. Given the volume of orders since the price reduction, I’d be quite confident there will be another big delivery in Q2

I was actually able to switch my original order from Jan 24 this morning (3am) from a Black M3 RWD to one that showed up in the inventory and as soon as I updated my order with the same specs it initially showed me April-May delivery (I was going to pay for the one in the inventory until I noticed it was gone), then after a couple of minutes I got VIN assigned from the White M3 RWD that was in the inventory. I'm quite happy now as delivery will be March 17 - 31. I consider myself lucky as my baby woke me up and couldn't go back to bed so ended up opening my phone finding this gem in the inventory. So yes I do believe this was a cancellation.
So there's a 4 week wait for pickup even if the car is already in the country?
I'd say the car is on a boat, due to land here around the 9th of March.
The car is defo not in the country. The boat is due to arrive in Belgium first week of March, currently passed Sardinia, then cars are sent here in batches. All paperwork is done while in transit. The OP was lucky as someone decided to cancel overnight but as the boat approaches there will be more and more. Those over the grant currently in inventory are on the boat. Before the hard brexit we got to share inventory with the UK don't know what is going to happen with those. I imagine will be stored until the grant goes and the gap reduces. Anyway expect big wave of cancellations in the next weeks
Yes, inventory rising already , another MYLR MSM (above grant) added overnight . Id say most of the LR which were ordered before price drop in october will be cancelled unless they ordered white
Or they are commercial orders with no grant from the start.
All steps completed now on my M3, just the waiting game (to continue) 😅 Delivery is 16th March for me.
3 weeks for me, 18th March😀 Just adding some detailing bits and pieces to my cart in anticipation.
I already got the tidy tray for the centre armrest and the cupholder insert. Mrs things I'm mad - "it's literally a piece of plastic"😅
The tidy is for her stuff that she leaves rattling around in the centre on the current car. 🤣🙈
I'm going to order the all weather floor mats next and leaning towards the official Tesla ones. Mudguards are up in the air, not 100% on them.
