Just opened today! Anyone know what percentage of job offers are based outside Dublin just out of curiosity?
Hiya! Did you get any more info on special purpose level 7 eligibility?
Check the booklet and it gives you the four options, I had a Level 8, so I submitted my academic transcript showing my individual module and overall degree grade. I think the booklet is at the start of the thread, you could check the other options there, I know LC and 2years service are another option, can't remember the fourth.
Hi - I have an interview for internal EO.
Can you give give me any advice/tips? I’m Very nervous!!
Hi,
There is a very good thread on boards that covers this, called
The Questions You Might Get Asked at EO/HEO Thread for the Civil Service.
Know your CV, they will ask about it.
Read the competencies, and prepare examples for each one. Two at least.
Use STAR method.
There will be around 40 questions in 45 minutes.
Listen to each question, and answer the question. Don't rush answers. Think.
Read the Civil Service renewal plan for 2030. If they don't ask, make a reference to it. For brownie points.
Prepare a personal statement for why you are the person for the job.
Prep well in advance, don't cram at last minute. Try to relax.
The two who interviewed me were pleasant, so relax and just do your best.
Best of luck
Good morning. Does anybody know what Batch number and oom they are at where people have been offered actual positions for Interdepartmental in Dublin. Thanks
Hi I just got assigned a position and I’m on the interdepartmental panel 7. I’ve no dates yet but I know the department I’m going to.
That's brilliant congrats on your placement, what oom roughly are you if you dont mind me asking? Did you get to pick a location
I’m close enough to the top. I haven’t been given anymore details with exact location as yet. I’m sure I’ll hear in the next few days
I just got assigned my department today. I was told they would be in touch soon with start date etc. I was batch 5 position 17 in Dublin open after interview, for reference.
Anyone know what number they are at for the open & interdepartmental.
I'm just over 500 but feel like I've been waiting a lifetime to be called. The competition was 6 months ago.
What location/region?
Dublin is in the 1000s on open panel..
@LousClues
Check out tinakservices on Instagram or Facebook. She is on interview boards for civil service.
Best of luck with interview
Any update on Kerry region figures?
@LousClues I just started following her this morning when I saw your comment. Lots of useful content, thanks for sharing.
Does anyone know if your retirement date is linked to your start date? Or would there be a 'popular' time of the year to retire? Am thinking this might be the only way some of the more rural panels get moving!
I hope I'm not in breach of the rules posting this. Apologies if I am.
Two friends and I have done in person interview prep with Tina. We put a huge amount of time into our prep after meeting with her but we all placed 1st on our panels at interview. One CS, one Local Authority and one HSE.
No affiliation to her, just happy to recommend her.
Regarding pre-employment checks for the open stream.
What is meant by the following:
Satisfactory references:
Do they look for a reference from our current employer?
Health:
Is there a medical examination?
Character and eligibility;
is this to do with the garda clearance and references?
Thanks

Hi I’m batch 7 and in top 10 OOM for interdepartmental. I had to give extra info for Garda clearance. I’ve been assigned to a department but I’ve yet to be contacted with a start date or location.
Hope this helps.
