A 17 year old car, with 240,000km on the clock, an NCT about to expire, high tax, and bad MPG. Thats got 'buyer beware' written all over it. At half that price it might be approaching a bargain.
As the other poster said if the car was problem free the seller would surely put it through its NCT now. It'd be a lot easier to sell with a year+ of NCT on it.
You won't get an NCT'd CRv for anything less than 1500. Catch yourself on. Thats the price in diluted euros whether you think so or not. 17 years old has.nothing to do with it if its a civic, crv, corolla etc. Thats the price relative to the buying power of euros which IS monkeynuts and not worth a sh1te.
Cars havent gone up, money has gone down.
Theres a rumour that test slots are hard come by. Probably just a rumour though.
I bought a car 2 years ago during the pandemic, I bought the seller, its gone through 2 NCTs (got at midnight) with no work and no servicing whatsoever (Disclaimer-I spent a half hour cleaning the lens with baking soda and vinegar, for a visual re-test). That's a straight seller and theres very little to go wrong with that motor. Again, I have one for 5 years and I know them inside out. Are there better bargains? Yes. Cobo55 can spend a few hours trawling now and wow us with his superiority. But if you buy the car and not the seller, its you who lacks bangernomics sense. Bangernomics is about buying a car and running it without repairing it if possible..if you think that the NCT, rather than a car model's proven history, protects you from being parted with more readies after purchase, well on with you. But its not bangernomics and smacks of foolish.
Thanks for your approval 👍
Might be a hairdressers car for you? All washed and dainty.
Away with you so, more money than sense. Maybe you'll give it a wash, it could do with it.
You can test a car three months in advance. If it's such a honest ad why didn't he put it through and sell with over a years NCT?
700 more like... The "Jeep" as he calls it is bloody 17 years old, AHH lads the car world is gone completely nuts.
If you knew much about cars, and reading ads vibes, you'd know that's a genuine car. I drive one, I know.
What's bad about it? Id buy that from that ad sight unseen.
What is so good about that less than two months NCT?
Quality 2nd gen petrol CRV. In black. Asking 2k, 1700 would get it
I want it but I already have one. I still want it though! Bought mine for 1750 5 years ago.
NCT'd and taxed to April. Looks sweet.

Exactly and there could be more wrong with it too. Worth a couple of hundred at most due to work needing to be done.
How can that c5 be worth it?
Bump the fixer upper one if you can. I'd like to have a read of this one.
I know. If this forum gets any quieter we we’ll just need one thread that everything gets posted in!
I'm surprised it's only 3 months. I would have thought it was at least a year since there was a post there.
Forgot about that thread, last posted in nearly 3 months ago! Isn’t there a rule about resurrecting zombie threads? 😂😂
Factor in €1,000 for a clutch and flywheel replacement. I know Jason that owns JPS.
He's a good guy.
Fixerupper thread ----->
While since I posted a C5. This one for €1,350 is driving fine but clutch and flywheel needs attention, whatever that means.
2 months tax and nearly a full year's test.

Where?
I could have booked my car which is due in May this evening for 12pm 2moro. The next available for same centre is Sept. 7. Gone quickly though.
Meeting strangers in remote car parks I’d say 😂😂
Missed that on my first look!
Having worked for applus, I can assure you that when I was there the local dealers could ring us directly in reception and we would tell them if there was a few slots, or else they would ring up and see if we would take one "unofficially" in between other tests. It's Ireland. It's all about who you know.
Now, things may have changed since I left 4 or 5 years ago...but I doubt it.
I'm long gone from the trade (thank God).
I do like to give my opinion on cars I have had experience with though. :-)
These seats used to attract stains like curry to a pisshead! Even without spilling anything
on them, stains would just appear. Saw a good few replaced under warranty when these were
new. I had a brand new one in 2006 and had both seat cushions replaced under warranty.
It's not something most people will have, or is bangernomics now a trade thread?
Never knew there was such a thing as an NCT trade account. Every day is a school day.
I'll agree to disagree.
If they are all gone in 2 mins what's the lad who stays up through the night, doing the rest of the night.... There's a finite number you can book in 2 mins too.
What have they been doing on that driver's seat
