Slightly off topic (well, very off topic) but I went to Tesco in the Merrion Centre yesterday and I kid you not, the fruit and veg section was over half empty. I don't think there was one bit that was fully stocked. The section for peppers consisted entirely of upturned empty crates, with literally one rotting green pepper in the whole (huge) section.
It was completely bizarre.
Is there some huge problem with the supply chain for fruit and veg?
Dunnes have their own brand jalapeños back in stock.
Very much a current topic actually. I was in SuperValu donabate last Saturday and there was no strawberries nor raspberries. They have yet to stock any since. The fridges are bare of produce.
The fruit and veg depts of pretty much all major supermarkets are hit with “weather” issue.
Strangley , Kiwis , grapefruit and the disgusting ‘acid like’ mandarin oranges are fully stocked though.
If it comes from China, South Africa, Kenya or say Chile it wouldn't be affected.
All stores in the local area, Leitrim, are well stocked. No issues to be honest. Loads of different Tomatoes.
Thanks @Moving2017 for updating, will have to get into Dunnes for a lash of those.
Big fan of the kavanagh's jumbo oats - better than flahavans jumbo oats imo! Wonder who makes them, as not any companies do jumbo oats
nice one, will get some there as they likely wont be seen in Lidl or Aldi for another long stretch
Likewise big fan of these with a bit of honey & fruit.
They're supplied by White's from Tandragee in Co. Armagh.

I buy them for the birds very cheap compared to bird seed etc
Lucky birds! Thanks for the info on Whites Donegal Man - makes a lovely thick but creamy porridge!
Meatballs are back. Yeah! 😋
anyone who uses aldi's own-brand redbull knockoff, they are lots cheaper in 6-packs. 65c singly, 2.15 for 6 which is under 36c each
Started buying the Aldi Vive ZX cola instead of Pepsi Max and once ice cold can't really notice any difference apart from the price €1.79 for 6 cans against €4.50 Tesco clubcard price for 6 Pepsi Max.
My store never seems to have them. I think they're ok & good value
Has the Kortenhoef beer been discontinued? Hasn't been in my local Aldi for the last fortnight and the shelf space is taken up with a new German bottled lager. I hope it hasn't.
Good news, jalapenos are now back in Aldi and are still 99c
Thanks @Muahahaha for updating.
I also much prefer Kavanagh's oats (jumbo and normal oats) compared to Flahavan's
would you have these cold or wha?! thanks
Usually heated up. Sliced up, they make a great pizza topping. If there are any leftover they are usually eaten cold, one by one, every time you pass the fridge. 🙄
Aldi Titan Ice-cream bars ... they are very nice. Not too big, just a nice serving size as a treat. Pack of 4 for €1.79. An Aldi version of Mars bar ice-cream, but I think Aldi version is nicer.

On the subject of ice cream the mini choc ices are lovely. 4 Milk, 2 white & 2 almond. 50ml each, €2.29.

Can I just give a 👍 👍 👍 👍 to Gloomtastic for the meatball heads up. They are excellent had them sliced on pizza last night and am eating the rest from the fridge waiting for the ól bacon ribs tonight 😁 PS the dog is mad about them too
😂😂😂
Had some of the meatballs in my fridge yesterday morning and had a house of hungry students so had a moment of inspiration and made Italian Subs using the meatballs.
10 minutes start to finish and 4 happy students raving about how it reminds them of the italian subs they had during the summer they spent in the US 😋
good stuff! I has them in my hand the other day but chickened out! Can I use them heated like Swedish meatball style? Im sometimes afraid to reheat meat 😂
I changed all the minerals at home for the Aldi version with the cost increases and the kids don't no different. I use them for mixers too and the 7up they have is way nicer than the real deal, rock shandy too.
People need to do a blind tasting test, they would be very surprised at the outcome I think.
