Ballpark how much would one cost?
€14-€15,000 depending on brand macerator fitted to it, whether it folds down or left vertical for transport etc. That includes vat and fitting.
About here a lot of lad's recommend the bomech alrena macerator so that's what I specced. It did add a few euros by comparison to the vogelsang.

Can you reattach your dribble bar / mascerator if you upsize your tank? Or is there more to it
They could try but then most contractors would grt out of slurry I'm guessing. Shoes are way heavier than bars and block far more often plus more maintenance required on them
Splash plate application was easy spot on google maps. Dribble bar a whole other story if it ever went to that

Anyone look at the Martin dribble bars? Significantly cheaper, is it evident when seen up close and working?

Not sure, this ad doesn’t say but swear I saw it said in a previous ad. Mr. CVX on YouTube is an agent for them and has done a video on them.

Not the sexiest looking option. Be okay for separated slurry I guess. Could offset the cost of a separator with it.

don’t know where the extra maintenance is ? There’s a bit but not a massive amount
trailing shoe is way better imo
The main difference in both is that you can't reverse with the shoe without lifting it whereas the dribble bar is foolproof that way .
Sure the new type trailing shoe is a dribble bar with a rubber boot on a spring tine. The research is now showing that there is almost no differ in emissions, so I would think little differ in nutrient losses? Or am I wrong.
Very little if any. Just know around here farmers prefer the dribble bar

True but lads if you are accessing a shed for an agitation point you should have a look at changing it. Grants available to do it.
Surely non existent at this stage? I can’t think of one farm we work on where you’d need to access a shed for emptying a slatted tank.
If there is lads still at that they really should get their act together. As far as I know there’s 60% grant to move agitation points outdoors as it’s a safety issue.
Question for lads. Where would you source the drop pipes for the dribble bars. Mine wore out so just threw on normal lay flat pipes to get me by in Jan. They are goosed now aswell.
The manufactures of the dribble bar should be able to supply replacements? But, if the originals wore out so quickly, is it worth paying a premium for the same again? Just buy a full roll of lay flat, and cut lengths off as needed.
The originals were 4 years old and alot of slurry gone through them in fairness. Have a pain in my ass from getting onto slurryquip looking for them

That's poor from them....I bet they responded faster when you enquired about buying a dribble bar. Put a post on their FB page asking why they won't respond to requests for spare parts. It might wake them up.

Well, obviously they don't make the pipe themselves...If you could find out where they, or any of the other manufacturers source the pipe you could probably get your hands on the same stuff.
