Are the boxes/tubes not there to keep the whiskey out of sunlight and maintaining temp? Agree bottles look much better in the nip but figured the manufacturer knew better than I.

I know chances are slim, but if I don't ask, won't receive.
How does it not look great? It's a better design than the previous box, it just isn't made out of average wood.

They used in the past and it included Dunnes, Tesco and all the usuals, anybody see it today?
As a collector piece the box doesn't look great, I wonder will that take some of the hype out of it?
I got a bottle last year to keep on a shelf so happy with that.
Saying that I'm sure they'll be plenty on sale by the end of the year if I wanted to actually try the stuff 🤣
They'll only hold an MVR, if you selected that option when renewing the barrel club on year 2.
Option wasn't there for first time subscribers.

It’s fine, I may have been expecting too much as someone that’s gotten into this within the past 12 months.
It wasn't publicly known, but it was mentioned in certain private arenas.
As for the barrel club, you should have gotten an email today, telling you that they will send you a link in 5 days time, so you can buy your bottle.

As someone that was monitoring this for weeks, signed up to the official distribution list and is a Barrel Club member, this was a shambles. I can’t agree that it was known as I received no info on this based on the above
This was my experience, it may not have been yours.
No . Launch email went out at midday, and it was all (500) gone in 11 minutes.
It was known that it was being launched this week, I was told on Monday that it would be released on Wednesday.
It seems that there were 500 bottles online, and at least 2 pallets in shop.
It was flying out the door, even idl staff were in the Q to buy.
But either way, I don't see it as a shambles from IDL's point of view.
I'd argue that they know exactly what they are doing.

Got one myself. Website was quite slow, so I wonder did too many people in the business know about it being launched.
MVR was on sale this morning, managed to nab a bottle, now showing as sold out but worth monitoring as there were issues with the online sales in the pre Xmas release.
And then everyone jumped on the hype train, and most people had no issues getting it in 2021 and 2022.
What makes you think 2023 will be anything like 2020?

Im not believing the hype of lotteries that have been coming in emails lately.
There will be plenty to go round, when people get their electricity and gas bills the first thing that gets dropped is another bottle of whiskey to sit in a wardrobe for a few years.
There will be no problem getting one.
If anyone is stuck, let me know. I'll have access to plenty, similar to last year. Had a few happy lads here when I sorted them out.
Believe me, anybody who wants an MVR 2023 won't have any bother picking one up at some stage this year.
Personally, I'm not going to bother trying for one til September or October, whenever the second release will be.
I wonder how many people are hedging by sitting on a few lists.

One offie near me is getting 30 bottle.. they have 60 ppl on the list.
