Didn't expect to see this in the last photo!!
It seems to be going rate in that area, have seen two beds for 1000 a month
Afaik that is a John Hayes sculpture in Tallow, local-ish feature rather than anything to do with the house.
There are a good few John Hayes carvings around Waterford and elsewhere, including the giant sword beside Reginalds Tower in Waterford city.
A pretty desperate attempt to add some interest into what looks like a neglected house with a leaky roof.
Those are a great addition to the roads around Waterford, there are a few around Clonea Power and Kilmacthomas as well.
The detail in that sculpture is incredible.
My initial plan was to buy the house and sell the sculpture to get my money back.
Did he do the stag at Clonea Power? There are also two 'thrones' (which I don't much care for tbh, I don't know if they are his, they are a different style) and a splendid one in the churchyard. Where is there one at Kilmac? The churchyard one at Fenor is very impressive.
Interesting house but way overpriced IMO and I’d be worried about who’d end up living in the caravan out the back if you didn’t buy it as well!! I’d say the lane to side goes to the farmyard of the current owners and could be busy.
I know what it's like living in the countryside on a busy borreen and it's not great tbh. It used to be quiet 20 odd years ago but now it is like new york city. Well that's a bit of an exaggeration but it's still very busy for a single lane back road.
I only went through pics now and yes you are right there is another person or two living in that mobile home right beside you. That would drive me insane anytime I was outside and they were outside too. It's grand if you lived in a town or village as you buy knowing you would have neighbours but if I wanted to move to the countryside I would want privacy. Over priced by a fair amount considering there a property right on top of you.
Mobile is for sale for €15k. So negotiable.
Absolutely horrible design, odd windows, the brickwork in the middle totally out of place, one house morphing into the one next to it, can't imagine someone studying architecture and then coming up with that mess.
Built in an old pub car park too
I can't quite figure what my issue is with them, but I really dislike those windows, especially the proportions. I always think of them as the standard ones that were put into all the 70's estates, unattractive and with no aesthetic appeal, my last house had them and I never liked them. I agree it is a very feeble attempt at design.
A bit unfair to show just half the development there. The full picture shows some symmetry, albeit still ugly.
Even a downpipe between the two would have helped a bit to define the properties.
took me a second to realise that was 2 houses and not 4.
It's not the neighbour's house, it's the bathroom of the house that is for sale.
It's the maddest thing I've ever seen but you're not losing out on a view.
From what I can make out they are numbers 2 and 3, there was a number 1 Ravens court sold in Dec 2022 for 940k , but no idea where it is.
The site plans for 2 and 3;
The windows not lining up is driving me mad
Indeed, the floor level of the one on the left appears higher but the roofs are the same height, so there must be few inches more headroom in the one on the right.
Makes me wonder why they didn't simply level out the whole ground before they started laying bricks..
Not coming up for me, removed from myhome already?
For some reason you have to hit back when the page loads to see the ad (on mobile anyway).
That was happening me yesterday(didn't try today) so I manually searched for it on the site.
Odd, not appearing on desktop for me, have to search, weird.
When the page comes up, search Carlow, then Borris and it'll come up then. It's about three houses down the list for Borris.
Of course, just pointing out weird glitch
I have really tried to like that tower house. Its quirky and I like quirky, but the layout issues and apparently very small rooms would annoy me. Other than the kitchen most of the rooms seem to have rather oppressive low ceilings, and all that massive wood everywhere is very dated without making reference to the age of the building. Why is the dining room at the very far end of the house to the kitchen? And its BER exempt.

Fancy sleeping 2 feet from a stranger, while sharing a flat with 8 other people? all for €500 a month including bills.
That bedroom looks dodge. No window for natural light suggests its a room thats been subdivided.
