The king is dead, long live the king.
Only 102 days to lights out for 2023..
Think that is very very nice
Mercedes are probably stuck with this design concept for better or for worse until 2026 rule changes.
I reckon we might see a "summer silver" livery yet. If any country has anything like a 30°+ heatwave the Mercedes-Benz team will literally cook in the paddock and the car will over heat badly with eff all air coming through.
The black is nice, granted it is not a design decision but to save weight.
God damn this looks good.
From what I’ve heard that’s not why they are using the black livery. It’s to appease Hamilton who wasn’t happy about returning to Silver last season.
I think Mercedes should have went half silver and half black. I actually think it is very dull.
Indeed considering large parts of the car are actually painted black
The could have simply stuck the decals directly onto the carbon fibre if the wanted to save more weight.
I have no t heard that at all, that also sounds like a pretty silly reason. Unless you are joking?
Merc were pretty clear that it is for saving weight, most of the display car was raw carbon.
It's just too dark. A lighter green would be far better.
I meant more the car overall, the sidepods are insane. I don't mind the green, it does align to their brand.
Sad to see Herbert and Di Resta leaving Sky while Hill and Rosberg Continue
Sky making a mistake imo.
Dan Fallows with the influence.
Ah fair enough. I don't mind the look of any of the cars (unless it's off looking like the Lotusbwith two noses). A fast car is always pretty. And we won't know what's fast until the first race.
Ferrari has a Colour but they play around with the tone of red. I'd just like a brighter green on the Aston
I think AM changed it more last year after 2021, 2021 it was too dark and never showed up on the TV very well at all.
Looks nice in this light anyway.
You mean like the West McLaren livery?
Alpine launch in London tomorrow. Three day pre-season testing starts next Thursday until next Saturday, and the first qualifying of the year begins on the following Saturday. The petrol is starting to run in my veins.
I liked that color scheme, with "Mika" and "David".
It was a departure from the red and white (obviously) when first introduced.
Jesus, I'm usually sick waiting for season to start. This year, it has come up real fast.
i loved this era of F1 cars. Simple design, V10 scream…those really were the days.
I'd have all 4 of them removed if it was me... Especially Rosberg who isn't (or at least wasn't last year) allowed into the paddock because he won't get covid vaccine...
Give me a mix of Karun, Brundle, Button and Naomi and I'm happy..
And cars that couldn't make the 107% qualifying time.
The days when if a ferrari found itself stuck behind a customer, Jean Todt would walk briskly down the pit wall to talk to the customer's team owner. A deal was done and the customer driver would move aside.
The days when Ferrari would have been financial doping if not for the fact that it was completely legal.
It was both uncompetitive and celebrated corruption. Cars were pretty but it wasn't all that.
They weren't just pretty. They sounded awesome, in the true sense of the word. But yeah, a lot of the rest is unduly romanticised.
Johnny Herbert is the personification of an English tabloid newspaper. The Sky coverage will be slightly more tolerable without him.
At least nico can give an insight into things, Naomi offers absolutely nothing.
She has just as many Formula 1 wins and titles as Martin Brundle.
Completely disagree. Nico's schtick is that he beat Lewis in one season. Naomi was a breath of fresh air on Sky last year.
I always think of him as a walking/talking personification of Brexit. 2 sides of the same coin I guess...
Ah ffs, go back and educate yourself on Brundles career.
Hill is far worse and should be first out the door.
Hes a British race driver fan who’s very devious. Not a Journalist or a Commentator
He would never cross Hamilton, Norris or Russell.
Its embarrassing to watch.
At least Di Resta should have been kept on
