The Russian Army has been in Moldova since 1944, that is the very core of the issue they are already there. That particular part of the Russian army never left after the break up of the USSR, many of the non-Russian soldiers in the Soviet army there did leave after the Soviet breakup but not the elements loyal to the Russia federation. It is an oddity but it is an oddity Moldova have been dealing with for 33 years.
Yah, but I want to hear MudSpud's views on the matter of how it can all be resolved. They/ he / she seem to have a deep knowledge of the conflict and it'd be great if they share their wisdom.
Won't make a blind bit of difference to the Russians, considering they are murdering, raping, bombing, driving tanks over civilians since this war started. If the Russians were a little more honourable then the Ukrainians could mark the cars used for military use, but no need considering the russians attitude.
Never going to happen, at least officially. Moldova isn't a member of NATO and is only in the application stage of EU membership since last year.
Hypersonics are only a recent thing and but one arrow to their quiver and one of the lesser ones. But yes they're a proper threat alright. Currently the biggest of any of the Russian air kit.
There seems to be an everlasting debate within the country about what Moldova should do going forward. One argument even suggested abandoning Transnistria altogether and go for unification with Romania. Hey presto, suddenly you’re in Nato & the EU. Polls in the country show minority support for the unification option though.
Does make me wonder if/how we get to the point where Transnistria will have its Russian garrison turfed out. I’m imagining Ukraine coming across the border to do it as opposed to NATO itself. It would likely have to wait until a point where Russia is squarely defeated and Ukraine can spare the troops needed.
Problem is, if Ukraine (or others) were to kick the Russians out of Transnistria, I believe the Moldovan military is far too small to successfully maintain control there if there is an insurgency against Moldovan rule. There may need to be a local desire to get away from Russia’s nonsense to allow for such a change.
Somewhat surprised that Transnistria hasn’t already been declared a republic within Russia. Even their current flag is essentially just the Russian flag. (Used to be an unaltered USSR autonomous republic flag)
No I didn't, unless your point was Ukraine was still one of the most corrupt nations in Europe before this war started and we all caught amnesia about that.
And please outline these "rapid changes" against corruption in Ukraine you speak of. If anything can reduce it massively and quickly it's this war. It certainly wasn't being reduced massively and quickly before it. You also seem obsessed with this odd notion of the Chinese waiting in the wings.
Slight difference(among many others) with the Marshall plan; it was put in place after the guns fell silent and the Axis surrendered. They certainly didn't try to apply it when the fighting was going on.
It was janky compared to the western counterparts and especially janky in relation to its projected image. And the resistance to EMP was a side effect of using outdated technology like vacuum tubes, not something designed-in. In any case, janky or not, it carried no real secrets in terms of technological advancements.
Lol the helicopters will not get far.
It is no surprise that a newly liberated country would have some problems with corruption. America in its early days, Russia after the breakup of the USSR. Likewise with Ukraine. You can't go democratic overnight. At any rate, I don't buy this corruption trope as any way of excusing Russia or letting Ukraine down. And I'm still waiting for the Napalm to go in.
Except they don't launch hypersonic missiles at ukraine, they do use air launched cruise missiles, from their 30 + year old jet
Explain why they bombed maternity hospitals and child Cancer hospitals .
A bit of background on Wagner, including their many operations in Africa and how it funds their operations elsewhere
Not sure that will work either.
No idea how accurate this is , or if the counter attack will work ,
But it's still good news ..
To hell with them,, let them walk!!! They found their own way to Ukraine, let them find their own way home..
Like you give a sh1t about Ukrainian civilians.
Ukraine is cut off because Russia controls Crimea, how hard is that to understand?
That means they also control the shipping to and from Ukraine, because they have a navy and Ukraine dont, and also ports in Crimea.
Stop deflecting?Stop asking stupid question
You keep repeating this and I am genuinely intrigued, would you have a link debunking the hypersonic claim?
AFAIK, Ukraine has not managed to intercept one of these plain, ordinary cruise missiles, even with the SAMP-T that otherwise has had a 100% success rate.
They also use the flag of the old Moldavian SSR as a co-official flag.
If donated to the military indeed there's a chance they'll be destroyed. And what?
Ukr military needs vehicles, Latvia has come up with a novel way of potentially supplying them with vehicles. Win, win.
There was reports yesterday the Ukrainans had pushed out instead of moving back,
But most importantly.
What a strange and irrelevant question.
Previously posted an article from the Pentagon which said they haven't been using hypersonic missiles against ukraine instead the mig 31 are using air launched cruise missiles,
Who Says Ukraine hasn't shot one or many down
It is a fair point though. They'll surely have to mark those given for military use or you open any civilian car up to suspicion. Not the Russia has proven itself considerate in this aspect but it could be the difference between life or death if someone with a half decent moral compass is looking down the sight.
Edit: typo
in Ukraine, everything and everyone is a target..every single thing. The enemy that will deliberately bomb hospitals and playschools, will target anything, and for the Russians, thats what they do. Inhuman Monsters.
That's a strange and irrelevant answer to a reasonable question.
Kadyrov is about to invade E. Germany. Where's the goddamn napalm?
Throw a happy meal meal at him and he will sit quietly enough
