It seems Western fighters are a formality. The usual dance is being conducted but Ukraine will get them at some stage.
If and when this happens and if Ukraine can achieve air superiority over Ukrainian airspace the war will coming to a close in favour of Ukraine.
Marry them along side Western Tanks, IFV's and tonnes of the new GLSDB's I cannot see a way where this will end well for Russia.
And throwing bodies at the front line didn't even really work in WW1. It was a tactic that was symbolic of the static nature of much of that war, in fact, and the deadlock was only broken when tactics caught up to the technology that was becoming available. Russia really seems to be placing all of its bets on the idea that the West will simply abandon Ukraine at some point.
I've been following him a while and yes he's been remarkably prescient in his musings.
The people I take notice of are..
Philips OBrien, Ben Hodges and Mark Hertling for military side. Timothy Snyder and Anne Applebaum for history/politics. Can't go wrong with that bunch.
Russians throwing themselves (unlikely with much choice) into the maw…or Ukrainian machine guns. Must be horrendous.

Ukraine also suffering a high attrition rate….
Who can last longer.
The main points of the interview of the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine O. Danilov on the broadcast of the telethon "Edyny Novyni"
The enemy's offensive is already underway and is not at all what the aggressor expected, because our troops are repulsing it very powerfully;
The commitment of significant elements of at least three major Russian divisions to offensive operations in this sector indicates the Russian offensive has begun, even if Ukrainian forces are so far preventing Russian forces from securing significant gains. The Russian offensive likely has not yet reached its full tempo;

Russia has begun its long-promised war escalation in eastern Ukraine, according to one of Ukraine's eastern military commanders.
"We can conclude that a certain escalation has already begun," Serhii Haidai, head of the Luhansk region military administration, said in an interview posted to his Telegram channel, per CNN's translation.
Russian attacks have intensified around attempts to move westwards from Kreminna, a Russian-occupied city in Luhansk that is a key hub in its ground communication lines.
Ukrainian forces have "repulsed a large number of attacks" there, Haidai said, with Russian troops failing, so far, to have much success.
"We can say de facto that this is part of the full-scale offensive that Russia has been planning"
But what would senior Ukrainian officials or the ISW know.
Yep, agree with all that.
Ukraine has no choice. Russia has shown what weakness reaps and the horrors visited on those under their control, even pro Russians are not immune.
Ukrainian losses are likely high, but attacking Russians will be many multiples. Charging machine gun positions will have that effect.
Attacking side will always suffer more than the defenders,Russia have suffered servere losses the last cople of months, since they started human wave attacks and use of barrier troops.
Its been as high as 1000 a day lately
Not sure why "attacking side will always suffer more" keeps getting repeated here. If the attacking side has a significant advantage, it's going to be the defenders who suffer a lot more.
Not sure how rolling artillery (attacking), pin point targeting, cutting of supply lines and a host of other activities which cost no losses can't render a defender immobile and incapable of resistance. Such that all there remains is mopping up.
Well the ISW, as Nuland's husbands project, can hardly be relied upon as a reliable source. Like, Nuland is the pointy end of the 2014 US coup!
But not quite so prescient as to "correctly predicted how Russia would loose a war with Ukraine." Russia hasn't lost the war with Ukraine (not to speak of not having a hope of winning it) such as to make the prediction correct.
What is a Ukrainian win btw? For me, a Russian victory is the taking of Donbass, Odessa and the landlocking of Ukraine. allied with the unconditional surrender of Kiev and the fall of the US government there.
Suffice to say, the world needs the US to loose.
Why would Russia attack in human waves when it can simply pound Ukraine from the comfort of mile away. By all means believe someone telling you that, but it doesn't make a lick of sense. Indeed, it's almost as if you've been reading a caricature website or something. Like: thick Ruskkies with commanders who couldn't give a rats ass about their assets.
It would be, if it were true. They can rocket the crap out of Ukrainian position, or artillery or airstrike, or missile. Yet they charge machine gun nests.
Sense check that/
Where are western fighters in significant numbers going to come from? As the man says, you could fit the entire armed forces of the UK in to Villa Park and still have thousands of seats left over. There will be no air superiority for Ukr becausee there is no way to enable that - Nato isn't going to war with Russia.
The numbers of tanks being talked about will enable a armed brigade or two - enough to attack a 30 mile stretch of front. The front is 1000 miles long. Leave aside the fact that for every hour of operation, tanks need 3 hours of maintenance. Gearbox goes and it's shuttle the broken down tank back to Poland for repair. Really?
Ukraine are done, apart from the last juices that can be wrung out of it by the US.
Except for the fact they are all rootin for the US side, that's a wonderful selection. The Guardian? BBC too?
What objective journalism do you watch? As a matter of interest.
Could you tell me how it was you arrived at the conclusion it is objective?
What is that cargo? Looks like M113 aluminium coffins but maybe it's something else?
Unless Russia unleashes 100's of thousands of troops. hundreds of aircraft and thousands of tanks OBriens analysys is correct.
What is going on is not the hammer blow that was predicted by some.
From the BBC article linked above by another poster: "Mr Danilov said. "The offensive they planned is already taking place, gradually, but it's not the offensive they imagined."
Not the offensive they (Russians) imagined and not the offensive predicted. Point stands.
Guardian yes. BBC yes,
For you, Alex Jones and Tucker Carlson I suppose.
You call that solovyov being mental?
This is solovyov being mental!
Ah the cost of 1000s of Ukrainian deaths?
What in the hell are you whittering on about. The US government is not in Kyiv and what are they supposed to loose? Loose the purse strings? Loosen what?
Post after post of unfiltered ramblings.
rocky what do you see when you try to access rt.com in a web browser? It's very simple. Others on here are dishonestly trying to say they can access it except they are going through a vpn or rumble. Can YOU access rt.com from a browser? Some people on here are like the little smartarse kid. The teacher tells the kid "Say 'my name is Jimmy'" and the snotty little kid says "Your name is Jimmy" with a smirk.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
ROFL Ha ha ha. 🤣🤣

No I can’t get it through my browser. Only with rumble. Don’t have a vpn.
It's not complicated.
Putin chanced his arm and won't back down, not even to save 100's of 1,000's of lives.
Ukraine have done exceptionally well so far, using the equipment supplied.
It's hardly unrealistic to expect that they do BETTER with MORE.
Not without a sham vote
