I'm not understanding your concern: was MediaITE's provision of direct video recording from the Congressional Record, via CSPAN, insufficient as direct evidence of how he carried and presented himself? 😶

Clay has yet to explain under what statutes it wishes to prosecute their own witnesses.

Also, here is the Ad Fontes page for MediaITE

After years of slandering the President of the United States and his family, they thought he was obligated to an interview simply because fox hosts the Super Bowl? Get outta here. The POTUS is not giving this weasel channel any unearned credibility.

Though, imagine him announcing his candidacy in a Superbowl commercial slot or whatever. Woot.

Ripples emerge in Fox's version of events

Variety reported on Friday that Fox News had sought an interview with Biden, but that the president would not be conducting any pre-game interview.

A Fox News executive offered a competing version of the negotiations between the White House and the media company in comments to Variety: “We offered an interview with our top news anchors with no strings attached — they’re walking away from a huge audience and it’s a major missed opportunity.”

That’s quite the dressing down of the article. Makes it very clear it doesn’t make sense, making the operation seem more covert by making it sound very sophisticated and high tech, by including all these excess people in on the excuses - even though apparently only 1 source for the whole article no Norwegian sources for example

A Pulitzer Prize is no replacement for verification.

WH hires outside law firm to be tasked with defending Secretary Mayorkas from a seemingly credible threat from Republicans of them being impeached.

maybe republicans just don’t like him because he is “woke?”

Because if it’s impeachment over the southern border I just don’t get it - for example ever since Biden took office they’ve equated border drug seizures and border arrests as a measure of failure, not success, defying all logic.

I happen to think his chances of being removed are pretty slim but it depends on the senate. Heck, they might not get it out of the house with how contentious it’s members are.

Why was the US so eager to get rid of it and what was it to do with them exactly ?

So you did not, actually, listen to Ted Cruz, or his arguments, or Pompeo and his arguments, or Barrasso and his arguments, etc. ? Just the little soundbytes screamed of their major context?

What do you think ? That is important.

My opinion isn't important to this. Politicians and fox pundits beating their chests about strong decisive actions doesn't evidence any such action ever took place. It also flies directly in the face of the logic presented by Seymour Hersh's article, as to be so carefully planned and so clandestine that apparently everyone who had access to Fox News knew this was in the works? And Seymour only has one anonymous source? Doesn't math out.

Equally as plausible, the Russians saw all this chest beating and saw a wonderful opportunity for a false flag attack on its own pipelines.

So if you were investigating anything you would look for a suspect first yeah ? That video shows multiple US people in power who wanted the pipeline gone. Who would be your prime suspect ?

Then again, Russia could of blown it's own pipeline up in it's own waters easily so why go into NATO waters to do it ?

You have multiple people saying on camera that they want rid of the pipeline including the POTUS and you are looking at the sky for another suspect.

Biden had a very successful SoTU address, particualrly rope-a-doping the GOP in to saying they don't want to do anything with Social Welfare or Medicare.

That came on the back of what has been a successful number of months for him. Dealing with the Chinese Balloon in a professional manner, a successful mid-term election cycle (even if Dems lost the house) and a successful two years where he has passed several influential bills.

The GOP have shown themselves to be in absolute disarray, bad mid-term showing, the disastrous election of Speaker, the constant stories in the press about candidates blatantly lying to get elected (George Santos first and now Anna Paulina Luna) and people like MTG and Lauren Boebert embarrassing themselves at committee hearing in trying to make it about them.

Of course, so much is riding on Biden's health, if he were to have a genuine scare in between now and 2024, then all bets are off.

Harris has been a disappointment, whatever the reason but she has neither been in the news for positive actions/stories of her own nor for being a loud and proud and frequent flag waver for Biden. I do feel they have mismanaged this somewhat because of Biden's age, were he to have to step aside, she's just not seasoned enough. And she bears a lot of the responsibility for this herself.

Dem's don't need Trump to win, DeSantis himself has been on a little fascist power trip in Florida and when he was faced with Biden at the time of the hurricane, I was surprised at how cowed he came off.

I'm still hoping Trump stays in the race long enough to rip the party to pieces, they deserve it.

Uhm, no I don't actually know how many investigations start off that way. You don't start with a conclusion and then look for the fall guy.

The investigation began at the site of the incident, surely, in the baltic sea.

I advise caution about the Dunning Kruger effect.

Then again, Russia could of blown it's own pipeline up in it's own waters easily so why go into NATO waters to do it ?

Sort of hard to make it appear like a false flag then isn't it. If it had happened like that, in russian territorial waters and you had all this Ted Cruz idiot rhetoric you could have the start of World War III. That's not the goal surely.

It was a big week politically, the State of the Union address. Don’t worry. You don’t have to say you saw it. I didn’t either. It’s **** ridiculous, this thing. The state of our union is uncivil. That’s what it is. I saw the clips. Oh, my God.

Republicans. You know, Biden’s trying to make a speech. They act like it’s a bachelorette party at a comedy club. Marjorie Taylor Greene screaming and shouting and yelling and heckling and booing,(intones gibberish)! It’s the **** State of the Union, not the Rocky Horror Picture Show you.

And today, James Carville, Democrat James C–, he gets in trouble because he said it was white trash on display. So the people who are always about you’re snowflakes, got a little snowflakey about it. And they were like, Oh, that’s that’s not fair. You don’t use that. Yes, that’s very insensitive. We don’t use the term white trash anymore. We call them poorly-tattooed Americans.

Yeah. Did you. Did you see Marjorie Taylor Greene? She. She wore a fur collar. She said to send a message. What’s the message? I’m a pimp? She wore a white dress, white coat, white fur collar. Picked out at her favorite department store. Dullards. It’s from the Ku Klux Klan’s new Kouture line.

And the other big brouhaha at the State of the Union, the Republicans, they can’t even get along with themselves, George Santos and Mitt Romney. Do you see that Mitt? Mitt Romney said to George Santos, you’re an ass. Which is kind of like Mormon for eat ****, motherfucker.

And Santos said, it’s not the first time I’ve been told to shut up, especially by people from privileged backgrounds. Oh, fight the power, Brenda. Santos said this is the whole reason he started Black Lives Matter.

I think he missed on the fact that she's worth over $40,000,000 and that's probably why it's unfair to give her a label like 'white trash' that she'd wear like a badge of honor and pretend like she comes from more humble bringings.

Biden has exceeded all expectations, but I think someone else should run in 2024.

The other side said he’d be in a home or dead after 6 months ffs.

If the dems run someone young, watch republicans flip to “He’s too young”.

Democrat policies are more popular too.

The younger generations aren’t flipping republican as they age.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,683 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

I think Dems need to hold primaries, especially after just restructuring their primaries so SC is a First Primary state along with others. I'm not even sure if I will be living here in 2024 so it's not out of selfish reasons but I think the restructure was good for them because the current primary structure has given us decades of democratic leadership that fights for the rights of people in the south... from Martha's Vineyard, or other ritzy, non-diverse luxury areas. And 'all politics is local.'

But I won't get into a debate over ageism, both parties are entertaining candidates who are old as hell, Trump and Biden, so it's a totally moot conversation to be having. There are far older relics sitting in Congress right now that neither side seems willing to address either, or term limits (I don't wish to rant about that one), so on a whole we can collectively stuff the ageism nonsense, some of them wanted Reagan to run for a 3rd term and he was already categorically losing it.

So is the US a prime suspect in blowing up the pipeline with everything i have shown you, yes or no ?

    Niccolò Machiavelli :

"To ally with great powers to defeat your neighbour is a strategic trap; if you win, you become the slave of the greater power; if the allied power is defeated, you remain alone and defenceless against the angry neighbour, and you are destroyed." - Niccolò Machiavelli

Feel free to suspect NATO, US, the Russians, etc. all day. I think they're all in agreement they didn't blow up spontaneously by themselves, at minimum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,670 ✭✭✭brickster69

Then again when you think about it, the US are now the largest supplier of LNG to Europe selling gas at 8 times the price than they sell it for at home. A good little earner to get rid of Russian pipeline gas for them, that's if they did it of course.

Probably safe to say we can rule out Norway and the UK from things, i mean how would they both benefit from it ? It is not as if either of them sell oil or gas also is it ?

    Niccolò Machiavelli :

"To ally with great powers to defeat your neighbour is a strategic trap; if you win, you become the slave of the greater power; if the allied power is defeated, you remain alone and defenceless against the angry neighbour, and you are destroyed." - Niccolò Machiavelli

Joe's administration is busy right now with chasing and shooting down unidentified flying objects with no visible means of propulsion which made even seasoned pilots scratching their heads.

Lets hope it will not turns out to be this kind of helium filled flying objects which tends to saturate sky mostly around the party time.

I think Joe is too young to have been the killer. What’s the connection to his presidency? Mass shootings happen every week why is this one being introduced to thread, of all? Police have no known motive political or otherwise. And we don’t have a split congress that will move legislation an inch, much as it has been for decades now.

It was in response to the poster with that chinese baloon story to distract from another mass shooting in merica

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,456 ✭✭✭patnor1011

You may have confused timeline here. Balloon story started and continued quite long before recent shooting you mentioned. Shooting like that happens quite regularly in the land of the free so balloon story was not a distraction in any sense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 627 ✭✭✭Mullaghteelin

Wow, no one's commented on the other big story that the balloon stuff is accused of being a distraction from!

Even RTE, who usually report every tornado, forest fire, natural disaster in the States, has not mentioned it. ( They HAVE reported on the mass shooting)

The Ohio train derailment and subsequent pollution disaster has completely escaped everyone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,781 ✭✭✭Cody montana

No, I’ve seen seen republicans on twitter saying it’s the new Chernobyl and the area is ruined for centuries.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,530 ✭✭✭The Raging Bile Duct

I would have thought Republicans might stay quiet on that. The Obama administration brought in legislation that any trains carrying hazardous flammable materials needed ECP (Electronically Controlled Pneumatic) brakes as a safety measure. The Trump administration rescinded that legislation and the Ohio train wasn't fitted with ECP brakes which would have lessened the severity off the accident.

It was also the Ohio governor that ordered the burning of the chemicals.
