If I was the estate agent I'd be miffed if I took someone all the way out there and they expected the house to be be on the shores of a lake, considering it was clearly mapped.
The house is exactly where it is on the map, at the end of a valley... The lake (Glanmore Lake) is 4km away
Are you not too busy turning up to your old job everyday?
Glanmore Lake is one of the most iconic setting on the Island of Ireland, the valley and surrounding countryside at Lauragh is a beautiful peaceful community and we are delighted to offer a traditional style residence with great character in a tranquil setting. Located on the western corner of the Lake this property has private road access which is adjacent to the public road.
Along with the photos the description does seem to suggest very clearly that the lake is adjacent, even though the map says different.
I get off at 2.
Would you arrange a viewing without doing a bit of Googling? maps, land registry, coco planning, schooling, distance to civilisation, asking the estate agent things like where does the water come from, where does the sh1t go and is the septic registered?
Well no, not even slightly, but you would be amazed at how many people would not have a clue what questions to even ask themselves.
Healy is easy enough. A couple of dramatic bends! And worth is for the scenery... This area is where I lived years. Lovely! Only left it as no viable rentals. Bigger than where I live now. If I had the money I would definitely be very tempted..
By choice often enough. And these days internet reaches out widely. Would not have TV if you paid me. That house is delightful with real character....making me restless!
Location, size and style-wise this seems like a bit of a bargain in today's market. There's a lot to like with this old house.
Goodness me, that seems wildly underpriced!
It's a lot less decrepit than I was expecting having seen the asking price - I was fully expecting to be typing that you'd need to spend the purchase price all over again doing it up - in fact it's absolutely beautiful! And recently reroofed, replumbed and rewired, and obviously decorated and a modern kitchen. What's not to love?
My only gripe would be no sea view. But I bet you can smell it.
If I won the lotto, I'd snap that up.
That's really lovely. Nicely renovated in parts, there's a bit more that needs doing but it's nice.
What a lovely house, I have no ambition to live in Dublin, but if I did and I had the money it would be top of my list. I love the gentle mix of old and new furnishings and decoration.
That is really nice. Love the interior.
have been looking at that on and off all morning, my only real gripes are the exterior colour (im sure it could be rendered or painted)and im sure its cold.
Seperate mews is a huge boon for guests etc, lots of space, decent location. it should probably go for a bit more, but buyers at that level arent that plentiful especially as you could spend plenty on that house if you want to redecorate etc.
I like the Lauragh house and it's not as terribly overpriced. If that was a few km further south there's be at least a 33% west cork premium on top of it
Assume you prepare the food on the floor before putting it in the oven
Jaysus!!!
Do you have someone else's house built on top of half of yours?
300 sq ft, I think that's the smallest I've ever seen. I've been on bigger boats!
They are "thrilled" to bring it to market.
Keep talking about the location.
At least there are a lot of restaurants around because you couldn't use the kitchen to boil an egg.
That place really is "a squash and a squeeze".
The bathroom is way bigger than it needs to be in that cottage. They should cut it in half and give the kitchen some more space.
Am I blind or is there no sign of a BER on the ad?. I wonder how doable it would actually be to work on it, some poor fecker will buy it too.
And over 100k per square foot!
A stylish hideaway in a stunning location if you have a spare million or so to spend.
27sqm, holy fcuk. And "originally a 2bed", so presumably had an outside toilet?
Nice view of someone else's bedroom from your own bedroom window. EDIT, it appears to be into your own bathroom, much better!
Cannot get the photos to open past 1
Handy if you're bursting in the middle of the night and have great aim.
‘is waiting for the right buyer with imagination and a zest for design to transform the property.’
Gut it and start again. In fairness, when you look on the map, there is plenty of space on the site. The planning, cost and time might ruin you though!
Would this house fall under the first BER exempt rule?:
I think your definition of "plenty of space" and mine might differ just a bit!!
Plus, those gaps (going by the floorplans) would seem to belong to other houses - they'd surely be shown as "courtyards" or something if they belonged to that house.
