UNITED NATIONS, Feb 7 (Reuters) - Russia has asked Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters to speak to the U.N. Security Council on Wednesday at a meeting that Moscow requested to discuss the delivery of weapons to Ukraine.
"Russian diplomacy used to be serious. What next? Mr. Bean?" said a U.N. Security Council diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Waters was criticized by supporters of Ukraine when he published an open letter on his website in September to Ukrainian first lady Olena Zelenska. He argued against the Western supply of weapons to Kyiv.

"Let's see what he will say. He has a position and you will hear it tomorrow," said Russian U.N. Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia, jokingly adding: "Perhaps he will sing to us, too."
The 15-member Security Council has met dozens of times since Russia invaded neighboring Ukraine last Feb. 24. But it is unable to take any action because Russia is a veto power, along with the United States, China, Britain and France.

I don’t agree with this take at all. I watched the whole episode and I remember watching the particular clip you shared before it (that’s what made me want to watch it) and to be honest he’s bored and semi confused with Joes rambling, not terrified. Context is everything, it leads into the conversation, they chat about it for a while but Roger doesn’t know too much so he contributes what he feels he can, and then Joe descends into one his takes/theories (sometimes they are great, sometimes they are nonsense, this one is probably 50/50) and Roger basically if anything starts looking mildly disinterested because he knows so little about the topic.
I've met Roger Walters before, a decent down to earth fella, last time was 2017 I didn't realise he was a tankie / Marxist Leninist type. Unfortunately, most of these tankies mean well, but certain world crises will make the mask slip, including recent events.
They have stuck to their post WW2 analysis of world politics, so still stuck in the cold war era.
