Do they contact you themselves with a cancellation, or do they go into stock on the website?
Can be either or.
They could auto bump up your delivery date or could call.
Alternatively, you could see a matching spec in inventory and you can just buy that and they will refund your original order deposit.

On Facebook Tesla Ireland group someone got confirmation from Sandyford they expect another delivery April-May (that was on Friday)
Yep. And backs up the saying that the sales guys in sandyford know at the VW dry least, the same as here, but most likely less.
My account has updated now with Vin showing, previously just in app. Payment is also being requested. Model 3 rwd on Hoegh Chiba.
It not looking good for me dam app not updating still saying Feb - march no vin and no hidden vin either.

Yeah I'm 3 days later than you so hopefully will hear something soon after you, rumours of a may boat so that may be our best bet.
Jan 14th. Model Y LR, all standard. No Vin yet or in the source code. My assumption is we missed the boat, figuratively and literally.
Hoping there’ll be lots of cancellations and might get one that way.
My RWD (ordered oct ) is still indicating hidden VIN and on Hoega Chiba. LR (ordered Jan 14)never got that far. (Estimating feb-mar delivery)
Id say there were very few LR on Hoega Chiba as it was loaded before price drop.
decided im not going to wait for LR and will take RWD if it comes in March .

No not yet. On the FB group too, only LR orders from last year have Vins.
You would think that Tesla knowing they are about to drop the price would have thought ahead and put extra LR on the boat in anticipation of sales post price reduction.
a VWID4 AWD equivolant spec is close to 65-70k so even if they didn’t have sales when the stock arrived in Ireland it certainly won’t last long in inventory.
No manufacturer does this unfortunately.
There will be loads available. This thread is full of first time buyers who are not aware of how it works.
It's still early enough. The current ship is only off the coast of Singapore. Usually VINs start getting assigned as they pass through Suez Canal so this is much earlier that they're showing up. Possibly Tesla trying to speed up the process?
Yeah hopefully. I really hope I get a vin. I had queried with Tesla about my edd being reset and they said it’s because I changed the spec and it’s now a different car they need to match but they said my edd should change soon so hopefully they are expecting some lr
Well yeah, changing your order would throw things off. Sit tight and see what happens. That's all you can do.
Tesla don't build to order like other manufacturers. They build what they believe they need and then match to orders later. Any leftovers then go into current inventory on the site.

I've just ordered a Model Y and have been quoted April-May for delivery. Fine.
I'm going to sell my current car elsewhere as I won't get as good a trade-in from Tesla as I'll get by selling it, then pay off my current PCP deal. This will give me quite a bit more equity to put down against the Tesla deposit.
My question is, once you've been assigned a VIN and/or delivery date, how long do I have to arrange the Tesla PCP with Finance Ireland? I ask because I would like to clear my current PCP before I get credit checked by Tesla for the new PCP, otherwise, it might appear as if I'm trying to have 2 cars on PCP.
Obviously dont want to be without a car for too long either.
Any advice?
I applied for my finance with FI directly before placing my order and they approved even with my finance on my current car. They advised that once my current finance is cleared prior to signing for the Tesla, there'll be no issue.
