I don't get people calling on NATO to get involved. Even an idiot can see that would be an escalation. There's nothing stopping individual countries to step up and give more to Ukraine. Plenty of people have been calling for that.

Someone mentioned some doing some kind of game in relation to the drive-by Putin-bot posters this forum seems to attract. Could be fun, but I’m kind of focused a bit on the patterns if how & when they try to hit us. This time was on a Sunday, mid-morning. I’m wondering if that is timed in the hope that there won’t be a lot of moderation happening at that time. It will be interesting to see if they do the same next weekend.
I have an impression that pretty much any English-language forum like this one is getting hit systematically by Kremlin-backed sh*t-stirrers, which might be part of the reason why we get them in waves and usually one at a time. The Russian poster will get as much use out of their time on here Boards before moving onto the next forum somewhere and eventually return to us a week later with a new account. Regardless of the military facts on the ground, the Kremlin knows that world opinion is squarely against them, and I think we occasionally are getting a taste if their ham-fisted attempt to change that.

As has been previously pointed out, the cost of aid given to Ukraine by the United States pales in comparison to what they have invested in foreign wars over the past two decades, and the potential return of investing in military aid to Ukraine could be extraordinary if it leads to the end of Russia as a military superpower and Ukraine sitting under the umbrella of the West.
The reason right-wingers in the USA argue against military aid to Ukraine is simply that they would quite like to see Russia prevail. They like Putin. They like his ruthlessness and his intolerance. To them, his leadership is a model to follow. They want a world order in which this ideology dominates because, for the kind of right-winger who has emerged in the United States, liberal democracy cannot return the kind of government they so desperately crave so, to their mind, it is obsolete and must be expunged, by violence if necessary.
If it is allowed to emerge in that way, it will only lead to the further consolidation of power and control of resources in the hands of a small number of people. It will not have been worth it to 'own the libs', I can promise you.
