Post all your Tesla Model 3 and Model Y EDD updates and other delivery related posts here please
Mod Note: Anyone posting a referral link outside the Tesla referral thread will have their link deleted
Or they've reallocated your car to someone who gave them a backhander :)
Ours not showing on the account page also, but is still assigned, just hidden.
Mine is gone too:) Maybe it was the wrong boat?
PS 3x posts on the FB page ab it:)
I saw this video of stock building up at the dock getting ready to ship again from yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4CFjMC2YzE
A lot of black stock there also vs loads of white on previous videos, probably reflecting all the recent black orders. I'm assuming this means (unless they are somehow going to ignore Irish orders) that we'll be getting more Q1 shipments.
I noticed that they are left hand drives.
Tesla said they are smoothing deliveries in 2023 to avoid historical end of quarter weighting
Same
Be interesting to see if they do, all cars in video I linked appear to be LHD. I still see them rushing to fulfil orders in Europe (not necessarily Ireland) by end of Q1 to keep capital markets happy
Don't do it to yourself 😁
Yes but majority of those will be LHD for Europe. Tesla tend to have only two delivery windows for Ireland Feb - March and around Sept-Oct.
The used to be around Jan & July and a few even in Dec. That has slipped over the years to the windows now and Dec dropped last year.
Would think based on what Tesla Ireland are saying all Irish cars are on ships on route now and the rest will depart in August.
But depending on demand in UK that could change.
Note Tesla deliver on mass in quarters at end of quarter so Q4 cars are being delivered now. Q1 builds will be delivered in Q2, by the sounds of it Ireland will be getting Q2 build cars delivered in Q3 (sept.)
Logistics is the issue the ships that drop the cars have to get back to China first for the next pick ups and fill up with other cargo before that.
Mmm they said that last year, only way they could do that is setup their own logistics/ships in my view.
In 2021 I got my 3LR delivered in May. Se below Tesla deliveries for 2020 and 2021. Both years affected by covid measures around here. 2022 was also affected by lockdown in China but if things go to somewhat normal we would most likely see deliveries around May June.
In my view that is not the route cause of small deliveries in Ireland. It's to do with the other RHD markets.
Tesla's were not just the best selling EV car in the UK it was the best selling car full stop around 45,000 cars sold compared to little over a 1000 at best in Ireland. Proportionally the population of the UK isn't 45 times that of Ireland. In that time Ev uptake in UK and Irish markets was similar (as a % of the overall market). People may say there is not the demand but take 2022 ID4 sold 3 times as many ID4's (no.1 selling ev) compared to Tesla's but in UK Id4 didnt even make the top 10 good chance more ID4s were sold here than in the UK.
Even in COVID times production rocketed, deliveries in UK rocketed but Irish deliveries stead flat.
Recession in UK etc. Is probably a better omen for a decent supply in Ireland this time around. Was in the UK a few weeks ago and Tesla's are like flies on s**t over there, so combined with cost of living stuff I'd say demand might drop there.
Also if their saying sept. In sandyford for the next drop I'd say its legit as normally you get the line "you'll have a very good chance of getting a car in the current delivery window".
Zero BIK in the UK if I recall correctly combined with sh1te public charging so Tesla pisses the competition with the SuC network
Oh like we have a fantastic network here!! Also 0% Bik here on cars here up to 50k OMV. Pretty much the same here then . But the UK market is serviced better by Tesla.
If demand in UK drops off in this year it's good news people buy new Tesla cars here.
BIK exemption here for EV’s is slowly disappearing I’m afraid. Most people with company car options here this year are looking towards petrol hybrids than EV’s.
I did not say anything about the numbers but about the delivery patterns. It seems to be accepted that there are only 2 a year when this is not quite true as you can see from the pictures few posts above. 2022 was with March/September but the factory in China was closed for weeks in March/April. With no other disruptions on the horizon I would expect deliveries at least for each quarter.
Anyone waiting on an M3 get a VIN?
I am. Been contacted by Tesla to sort out finance and SEAI but vin still not there in the account. Delivery date 24 Feb 12 Mar.
When did you order it?
In app now this morning. M3 RWD. Looked up VIN and it's on Hoegh Chiba. No contact from Tesla for forms etc. yet.
Ordered M3 Rwd Jan 15th, hidden vin in source code since last week, now showing on app this morning. 🥳
Back in September.
I got VIN overnight M3 RWD White/White order placed 13.01, vin shows under the app, not on the website.
Yes very awear of this. Point being in the last few years the incentives in UK and Ireland have been pretty much the same so that doesn't explain the disparity in the delivery of Tesla's proportionally between the UK and Ireland.
No 1 selling car ev or otherwise in the UK, not even top 20 in Ireland.
Overall EV adoption rates are similar in Ireland and UK. Again ID4 is best selling EV in Ireland (similar price) 3 times as many as Tesla. So If Tesla serviced the Irish market better no doubt their would be bigger numbers.
Will probably change now demand will drop in UK, so production and BIK are only secondary factors in my opinion. If Ireland was serviced proportionally should be selling about 4/5 thousand Tesla here a year. VW have managed nearly 3.5 thousand ID4 and they had serious constraints with wiring looms in Ukraine. Tesla are breaking production records even with shutdowns.
Anyways their should be decent delivery now but by the sounds of it you have to expect a couple of thousand but a big chunk of the in sept.
Where do you see the vin within the app?
Is it on the homepage or somewhere else?
Difference I see is is Tesla have a physical presence in the UK; info from April 2021 “ There are currently 26 Tesla Locations in the UK, with 19 service centres – 16 of them have showrooms – and seven are retail-only.” Sandyford, Belfast and a pop up in Cork gives very poor coverage here for a lot of potential customers. There are probably 30+ VW dealers here. The other impact with sales here is company cars and rental fleets which make up a lot of new car sales here. The likes of leaseplan quote crazy numbers to lease any EV’s as they are probably concerned with residual values. I suspect the likes of Avis traditionally get significant fleet discounts and visitors to Ireland won’t want to rent EV’s anyway with the present public charging network.
Yeah, homepage just under RN number
shows up under the RN number on the main screen in the app for me.
Model 3
RN118...
VIN LRW3...
Thanks both, will keep an eye out for it there along with the usual hidden vin in the source code of the website.
Folks,
Ordered my Model Y yesterday with April-May delivery date. When realistically will it be delivered?
