Its also a legacy of the Communist system, you stole what you could and bartered with it to survive, your wage was meager and what was for sale was sparse.
Putin and his leadership were nearly all members of the Communist party. They didn't learn their tricks in a vacuum. Hopefully they will never reach the brutality of that system, especially in Ukraine.
I don't think companies like Glanbia that operate in Russia still would like the embassy closed
An additional good news story to aid is the response to serious western pressure to tackle corruption.
Wouldn't be happening but for the Russian assault on the country sadly.
I think they are trying their best to clean up the russian influence and corruption, remember Russia have stolen billions from Ukraine the last 8 years, and probabaly have a large network still.
Follow the money and i am sure there will be more corruption
They are trying to clean up corruption because the United States has told them to in return for financial aid. Let's be real.
Sure we're as bad here with our Irish Dancers
The second best military in the world, the military juggernaut that is the orc army just captured Sakko I Vantsetti.
According to Wikipedia the population of the "village" is just 3. #winning
Gotra love their sense of humour!
They started cleaning up corruption 9 years ago,and are making steady progress,.
Anything else is just people being cranks
According to Ukraine, up to half a million Russia troops are being amassed for an attack in the next few weeks, possibly coinciding with Feb 24th
"Ukraine's defence minister has said Russia is preparing a major new offensive, and warned that it could begin as soon as 24 February.
Oleksii Reznikov said Moscow had amassed thousands of troops and could "try something" to mark the anniversary of the initial invasion last year.
The attack would also mark Russia's Defender of the Fatherland Day on 23 February, which celebrates the army.
Mr Reznikov said Moscow had mobilised some 500,000 troops for the offensive.
In September, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a general mobilisation of some 300,000 conscripted troops, which he said was necessary to ensure the country's "territorial integrity".
But Mr Reznikov suggested that the true figure recruited and deployed to Ukraine could be far higher.
"Officially they announced 300,000 but when we see the troops at the borders, according to our assessments it is much more," he told the French BFM network. The BBC cannot independently verify this figure."
Another apartment block attacked by Russian missles in donesk,
Rescue still ongoing
Kermit, it had started because they wanted to join the EU, Zelensky was elected on an anti-corruption platform, the war just speeded things up.
Gonna be some more massive losses of life real soon again.
Yes there will,
Stackem and stackem high, orc's are going to get smashed
Kramatorsk eh?
So either they don't at all control the provinces they claim are now sovereign Russian Federation territory, or they are straight up shelling their own people.
I wonder which is the lesser of two lies for the Kremlim, cos even in Orc World, both cannot be true.
They don't give a flying hoot who they kill or where they kill them ,
But expect plenty of excuses of it's a conspiracy theory to make us look bad yada yada
Pavels gone and upset the Chinese,
Lil Kim is threatening nuclear war ,
And putin hasn't been seen in public in a while,
We seriously need a global reset and put all these goons down permanently
There were recently lots of negative comments about aid from Germany to Ukraine to help deal with the russian invasion with a distinction being made between promised and delivered assistance so I think this graph of delivered military aid by country is interesting.
Germany up to November was ahead of the UK in value of weapons delivered to help Ukraine. Other interesting features for me is that Australia is after giving almost as much military assistance in this period as France, and Estonia and Latvia have donated considerably more than the French when more at risk of invasion from russia themselves and having smaller economies.
Is that in millions ,
It says on the graph that it is weapons deliveries in millions of dollars.
It's going to be brutal and a lot of Ukrainians will die in the next few months as well.
Looks like 300k Russia vatniks in the next offensive.
The Americans gave billions
President Ronald Reagans joke didnt age well either
18,102 million is billions....
Well to be pedantic 1 billion 102 million. Technically not billions but more than 1.
It caught my eye, that can't be right 😉
My fear is that by supplying the Ukrainian military with arms, tanks, aircraft and whatever… that is no longer offering humanitarian support to civilians…. that can be and actually is seen as the EU or some of its members participating in the conflict.
it will suit Russia no end because they don’t have to just have a beef with the… Germans, Danes, French or Finns…. It’s suddenly viewed as the EU directly involving itself in the conflict.
which is in fairness is probably accurate….
the EU to my mind are about to enter this conflict….
which is bizarre…. Considering they’ve a doddery old un-proactive son of a ……….. in the White House…not a great ally to have. Going by what we’ve seen, I wouldn’t rely on that lad.
the North Korean comments are concerning… are we on the precipice of WW3…. ? If we are we sure as fûck have a lack of quality in leadership positions in the West… there is little deterrent…
Biden, Scholtz, Macron et al… all seem to be rather reactive as opposed to proactive…
considering that the EU is supposed to be a union, it’s doing a pretty piss poor job of uniting for the common good of its citizens. It’s TAXPAYING citizens… who are largely voiceless in this shameful shîtshow… despite their taxes paying for the EU….
it could be renamed… EUFWU… European Union For The Wellbeing Of Ukranians…
is it in a position to defend itself from Russia ?
18 billion 102 million. Its late 🤣
Great delivery, terrible joke
Russia couldn't handle Poland, nevermind all of Western Europe.
It wouldn't be far off to say that there is a 50 year Gap in technology between the two.
