Battery protection and weather variables id say.
Abit of both there usually a turtle mode in EVs help you drive abit further at lower speeds but you want to be near a fast charger and the buffer is to protect the battery.
It hides both top and bottom capacity and "reserves" for battery management. You can drive below 0% in a Tesla, and quite far, but from memory this does not use the buffer, it's kinda Tesla's way of avoiding battery drain near zero that they have another bit in the tank below 0%
I'll try that - thanks!
Would anyone have the registration number for a RWD Model Y so I can check insurance quotes, PM if you prefer. My insurance company website can't find it manually 🙄
Thanks eagerv
There aren't any RWDs on an Irish reg yet. Stick it in as an LR, there's unlikely to be any difference in the quote price.
Thanks celtic_oz - order placed!
No RWD have been delivered to Ireland yet and thus, no registrations.
Maybe that would also explain why the insurance company can't find it to quote for. When I opt for a LR I'm told I'll get a refund of about 18%.
I've rang around/shopped online with most insurers and AA & some have the RWD and some don't. They'll quote you for LR and adjust afterwards.
Example figures, I had a c-class Merc before, typical quotes fully cmp. were around the €450 mark. Tesla RWD around €450 - 550. Obviously depends on your circumstances and your mileage may vary (😀) but gives you a ballpark
Which ones have it @TMY?
I'll need to check, can't remember off the top of my head. SuperValu were the only ones who said they wouldn't quote for the RWD, only LR, and very expensive.
Edit: AXA if I'm not mistaken
As a fat barsteward myself I find the seats in the 3 and y more comfortable than in my S or X.
I think the term is big boned!
Build for pleasure, drive for speed!!
Well fed I think.
Use the reg of Neil Briscoes test car. Look up the video
Only if you ordered the LR not the RWD! Haven't seen the video but hope you don't have to listen to him complain about Elon Musk for too long before you get a clear view of the number plate.
His test car was a LR.
On the old suspension. That fellow is a dinosaur, should have retired years ago, not making a half arse attempt at getting up to speed with cars in 2022 / 2023 and getting it completely wrong.
Dinosaur is offensive to the actual dinosaurs. He’s an a55hole 😂
Hidden VIN assigned today, found using the 'Tesla VIN finder' extension in Chrome. Install it and navigate to your Dashboard where it shows your car, then the detail page. It should display this if it finds a hidden VIN.
Ordered 16/10/22, RWD, MSM.
Anyone know how close to delivery money needs to be transferred to Tesla ?
usually 10 days. it'll be on your contract when Tesla contact you.
