Yes, Bakhmut may fall. Russians may take a tiny chunk of Kharkov oblast again. But this is going to be insignificant if Ukraine manages to execute another successful offensive, as an example, to liberate Zaporizhzhia region.

Russia was quite a long way off completely controlling the 4 oblasts at the height of their invasion success.
The idea that they might end this with control of all 4 seems rather fantastical.
The fact that the NATO countries have been convinced to send expensive offensive weapons would lead one to think they must feel there is a decent chance of an effective counter offensive, it might not happen until mid summer but they got those tanks and infantry vehicles for a reason and it's not to retreat at high speed.
The propagandists appear to have gone completely bonkers in the last week or so. Every day it's "let's fire nuclear missiles at the US", "let's bomb Polish military bases", "let's sink Estonian ships". They're like a bunch of drunks in a late night bar - how this gibberish can even be aired on state TV is anyone's guess.
It actually becomes pretty hilarious with multiple people because their propaganda starts to contradict itself and we see realisations setting in

Russia is just trying to grab enough land again,before Ukraine gets their next batch of heavy weapons,tanks and artillery,then dig in again,or have another mobilization ,and try and go for the whole of Ukraine again.

1. I agree but Boris doesn't do anything for the common good. He's obviously on a crusade to distance himself from future russian money scandals if they get dug up in London. A nice consequence of his utter corruption and ego was help for Ukraine though.
2. Not directly makes no sense. Russian state threats were veiled and murky the first few months. Why the hell would Putin threaten a strike before the invasion he thought would last a week even start.

Those at top/running UK have had serious problems with Russian money alright. It's really IMO an issue of utter greed leading on to corruption + a defective moral compass. Bad, but (I admit) it may not be as harmful as sympathy for aspects of pov/worldview of Russia/Putin (as opposing US/NATO/the West) + a resulting unwillingness to support Ukraine that we might have seen had Corbyn been the UK PM at this time.
Roughly on subject, saw interesting story last week about Prigozhin getting a sanction waiver (pre war, note) to move lots of money into the UK. It was to hire law firms, barristers etc. and use the UK court system to wage lawfare on journalists writing about his activities + "Wagner group".
I suppose the people involved will (if they need to sleep) tell themselves "everyone (caveat: with a fat enough wallet) has a human right to the very best of legal representation" to protect their reputation in court in a democracy and so forth. I suppose where there is muck there is brass and for the lawyers the money received has no smell of course.

I wouldn't believe Bojo if he told me today was Monday. Doesn't mean putrid didn't say it. But, the only reason Bojo was so active with Ukraine was he needed to distract from his dire situation at home, the only reason I'd like to see him back.
Have to admit, I'd rather like to see Putin follow through on that threat (assuming no collateral damage of course).
I think it's pretty clear that Johnson is trying to "Ukrainewash" his image for a future attempt at re-gaining the leadership of the Tory party. As a disgraced former PM, he's nothing more than a backbench politician and has no business visiting Kiev in any official capacity other than that of a representative of the people of Uxbridge and South Ruislip.
TBH, Johnson's putting Zelenskyy in an awkward position as he can't exactly afford to risk upsetting the British when they're a major arms producer and supporter of Ukraine by snubbing him but I'm sure he's well aware that unless Johnson's given some official position, it's Sunak he should be talking to.

Johnson is a pathological liar and narcissist (as is Putin of course). I wouldn't believe a word out of either of their mouths - but I suspect Johnson has made this one up.
What I find suspect is the timing of all of this. He could have shared this many months ago, but he waits until now. He’ll be facing a Standards Committee Hearing in the near future that might get him kicked out of the House if it goes very badly for him. This might be an attempt to drum up support for him so that he won’t lose his seat. (Apparently he still harbors fantasies of being PM again). It was front and center on BBC today, which just raised my eyebrow more about it.
Although Johnson’s support did offer Ukraine an early morale boost, I can’t condone his likely motivation of draping the conflict around his shoulders to deflect from the trouble he was in for being such a crap PM. Ukraine’s suffering gave him an «out» whenever he was being grilled for not doing his job, and I feel that was just despicable.
I hope he fecks off for good soon and that Ukraine can (hopefully) count on the support of actual statespeople and not a Spitting Image puppet come to life.

Just joking. But seriously, the Wagner group are private contractors. Western media certainly throws out an awful lot of fake news, some of which is genuine mistakes, some of it is extreme bias. So, like the boy who cried wolf, how are we to know if/when they report something that is actually true? We can`t know. This is why the assumption should be made that everything they report is false unless it happens to makes sense from the point of view of any given individual.
