I'd be more afraid of the traffic in/out of The Crescent than town, last Saturday (midday) I made an attempt to head to the crescent and did a U turn shortly after exiting the motorway.
There's free on street parking on the Clare side of the river and on streets out past Mallow St
Avoid the centre for those places as people said and use the motorway and tunnel. If ye are heading into centre after the shopping leave the car in the Crescent and get the 304 bus into town.

Ah Jetland on the 23rd December at 6:45am, customers give me my christmas laugh. People act so odd at Christmas in Supermarkets. Missus had work so got in before she started and I was back in the car at 7:35am. As we left entire families were heading in just adding to the growing madness. People are rushing around in there making it feel frantic when it doesn't need to be. I've to go back at 6pm with another family member, that will be utter chaos. I saw Childers road have a queuing system setup outside(barriers) but didn't see on in Jetland, maybe there will be one later.
I was disappointed this year as I only saw one person arguing about being unable to buy alcohol at 7am, normally there are more people. It was quite early so not many "lost husbands" to be seen, you know the type. 364 other days of the year they sit at home or outside reading their phone or paper but today they go in and meander about bumping into other lost husbands and stopping to talk in the aisles. They'll be there later I'm sure. Oh and my missus says "whilst we are there later I might return two items in drapery".....................yep great day for it.

Testing lights in Thomond Park. Must have got some new ones installed.
When you hire the conference suite there you can get the lights switched on in the stadium and a message displayed on scoreboard.
I assume the light rays were for some celebratory occasion that was being held in the conference room

They have added more lights than the normal set.
I know why people show on line for clothes, Anytime you go in they seem to have nothing in stock or they go you can only get that online. Now I know why shops close.I rather go instore cause least you get to see the sizes there cause each shops sizes are different one shops large can be another stores medium. Some of the stores t-shirts &jackets barely would fit on your shoulders.
Was in Castletroy Park Hotel on Saturday to listen to JJ Hegarty. Pints of Guinness went from €5.50 to €5.90 in a week.
Are they gone up elsewhere recently?
Guinness put their prices up on the 1st of February. Most of town were holding out till after the Bank Holiday weekend so expect everyone to go up this week. Also Heineken are due to go up again in March.
Folks quick question double barrelled surnames as Bob Ryan Talor. i booked the ticket as Bob talor would it make a difference when i am flying ??
Name has to be exactly on passport. But if Ryan is not Hyphenated you could claim its a middle name which would get around it.
Cause on the passport it goes Surname: ryan Talor Forname Bob Pat
When did you book the flights, some airlines allow a slight name change free of charge within a short time frame. I think even Ryanair allow some changes for free on their App
Then your in trouble unfortunately now depending on the airline they may allow you to change for a fee.

Is it just me or are most of those mobile phone shops in town a front for money laundering? I counted so many on the William Street, Wickham Street, Thomas Street block, very rarely if ever see anyone in them, other than the workers. Have any of you ever used one?
