Wonder if there will be any "mostly peaceful" BLM riots after this?

Usually, attacks on black civilians by some cops in the US are racially-motivated. So why would some black cops inflict brutality on other black people?
It may well be interpreted as the actions of an institutionally racist police force i.e. the officers may see themselves as police officers first and foremost and black people only secondly. If white officers are regularly harassing or mistreating black civilians, even black officers may come around to the idea that it's no big deal to harass or mistreat black civilians, as that's just what the local police force does.
When you look at the violent reaction to the death of a predator of women like like George Floyd or that child torturer in Atlanta who stole a policemans gun, what will the reaction be when we have a genuine case of a far as we know unarmed and peaceful decent person being beaten to death with batons, restraining a violent suspect can have risks as we saw with Floyd, 5 men whaling on a fellow for 3 minutes with night sticks is not restraint.
Probably nothing will happen, this time, bizarrely.
Stretchy McStretchy pants reporting for duty.
In fairness this incident seems to be far beyond racism. Five police officers beat a man to death. I assume a lot will come out about these officers that can’t be explained by institutional racism.
They should be acquitted then and compensated for what they have had to endure in the Memphis Police.
White policemen in Memphis are scarce on the ground and even scarcer higher up, which one of them is responsible.
Well of course, there could be the case that they knew this man and it was personally motivated or whatever.
Certainly though, the worry with the authorities seems to be that this will be viewed by the black population in Memphis as an institutionally racist and corrupt police force carrying out an attack on a private black citizen and that the skin colour of the officers will almost be irrelevant.
Racism is everywhere, even in this case, had this being 5 white police officers, they would have been suspended on full paid, be off on many weeks holidays, sunning themselves on a beach drinking piña colada's, while their superiors sing their praises, telling the public they did nothing wrong.
5 black cops, charged with murder instantly.
Seriously. I hope you're joking.
Drole
...
A man has died and it's just an opportunity for point scoring in the "culture wars".
Dude it's fact, many cases before this one involving white cops, who were suspended on full paid, and defended, they can be very long drawn out affairs when a white cop is involved.
Ah right. You've seen the body cam's.
Charges do come, but after a month or so of trying their best to find an escape door, but of course many white cops do get charged in killings
I'm lost about this. It must be something ridiculously bad for immediate dismal and huge charges.
You'd think they'd release the video at 7am Saturday morning, not prime time Friday night while everyone is highly strung and looking for an outlet.
I don't think they should release the video at all. That's for the jury.
If you want to see somebody battered to death, your choice. Not how I get my jollies.
Oh right...
You have seen the officers superiors, yes?
Tbf that's why the thread was started.
Seemingly he's an expert on the US police.
An American sociologist was making the point on RTE Drivetime that American police forces and the US legal system are so racist towards black people that it is perfectly possible for even black officers to behave in a 'racist' fashion towards another black man i.e. they are first and foremost representatives of an institutional racist force and wearing the uniform and may be acting in the same way as any white racist officer.
American sociologist's are nothing more than left wing room 101 woke psychologists.
Everything they say is so predictable.
What you forwarded there is total BS.
I pity people who soak up this kind of nonsense uncritically.
It must be the only first world country where a simple traffic stop can be a death sentence.
How often does it happen, it seems every week you see something on the news.
I think the whole place has turned into a kip if you ask me..
If only people would comply with the police, it’s really not hard.
5 cops with guns out and all shouting at you,, then it dawns on you that these cops might be just like all the other nut case cops you see every week on the news.
So you get moving, better to get shot in the back, you might live that way, its better than one in the face..
Dramatic
I think the body cam footage was bad, shows a lot of the wrong doing, the killing etc.,
Murder tends to be frowned upon. Especially with people who have sworn to uphold the peace. Dramatic is your word...so be it.
Oh stop. You comply with the police, and next day complain. We’re talking US police here, their literal lives are in danger every stop they make.
Just watch the bodycam footage,, The guy was on the ground, So I was bang on, Nutcase cops kill guy that may or may not have had a brake light bulb out.
